100%. I honestly believe political leaders ask too little of people. The thinking is you need an extraordinarily low bar - so ask people for money or to sign something. People want to be part of something and they're eager to do real meaningful work in defense of their community and their rights.
I have begun to think that Minnesota pushback to ICE was unique and a model because it gave people something to do. It wasn’t about just going out in streets for rallying purposes. People had a mission: videos, whistles, information and communication flow to communities. They had something to do.

The infrastructure to support people targeted by the state and the judicial system is incredibly important and absurdly underfunded. Even more essential in the states with cash bail and all the rest of it. The action isn't over till everyone is home so plan for it.
I've been representing protesters pro bono since Trump 1.0. In that time, I've represented protesters against the Muslim ban, ICE, trans bans, DEI bans, genocide in Occupied Palestine, police brutality, and more.

Want to know why more people don't protest? Here's why.

If Democrats haven't announced their proposal for the Donald Trump No Guns in Public bill by the end of the day, they're missing an easy shot
Trump: "With that being said, you can't have guns. You can't walk in with guns. You just can't. You can't walk in with guns. You can't do that. But it's just a very unfortunate incident."

For a long time now I’ve drawn a contrast between “contradictory” and “hypocritical”, what fascists say is contradictory because they only say what they need to be true in the moment to justify their actions, but it’s not hypocritical because its purpose is to advance the fascist agenda

I get it. They sometimes publish a good piece. But my contempt for The Atlantic runs so deep. I'll pretty much always look for a piece that covers the same ground in a more ethical publication, and such work usually exists. Support indy media, fam. It'll help get you free, instead of the reverse.

Mutual aid builds trust.

Trust builds relationships.

Relationships build organizing.

Organizing builds power.

Power is how we ultimately win.

1. The deadline for nominating a person or group for the Nobel Peace Prize is Feb. 1.

2. History professors are qualified nominators.

3. The people of Minnesota have been awe-inspiringly peaceful in the face of state violence.

4. He would be so mad.

Make no mistake, we are now seeing white American citizens being murdered by law enforcement because we never truly addressed the way our law enforcement treats Black Americans.

If we do not help each other, it’s only a matter of time before we all lose.

Our liberation is tied together.
