intelligence is knowing that your hometown, Cowes, is NOT named after cows. it is named after the sand banks 😤

wisdom is learning that the sand banks were thought to look like cows.

"To borrow a criticism, in his robust defence of Brexit freedoms, Starmer resembles Alec Guinness’s half-mad colonel in The Bridge on the River Kwai, protecting an edifice he has forgotten was built for the benefit of the other side."
"rejoining the single market... cannot be sprung on the voters at the election. You have to spend the coming years making the case, perhaps preparing the European Commission and member states. Lest we forget, they have the actual say on this."

Drop the 'perhaps'.

Northern Ireland continues show off just how broken UK counter-terrorism law has become...
Judge Kerr said he accepted that this was not a terrorist case but that the pipe bombs had been left to "cause fear and distress and in order to achieve a sectarian aim of stopping the GAA using public pitches".

Pipe bombs not terrorism, holding signs in support of Palestine Action however, is.
A man who left pipe bombs at a Co Down sports ground in an attempt to intimidate a newly formed GAA club into leaving, has been given a three year sentence.

when someone hasn't heard, or heard of music you like, your reaction should be "this is a fantastic day for you, this is the day you get to hear this for the first time." the first time hearing new music you love is the best part of listening to music. how lucky you are to share this with someone

I believe that NVIDIA is breaking no laws, committing no fraud, and not doing anything other than forcing partners to buy endless GPUs, taking advantage of exec ignorance and FOMO. Repercussions will be the company's main revenue source going away (NVDA won't die)
@edzitron.com i know its annoyng asking the same question but i really want to know your opinion if nvida will survive all of this not only the bubble but all that coming after i really dont think they can go withow any repercutions maybe not in u.s with their current administration but in the EU?

It’s very funny to me that countries are trying to pass laws banning teens from social media until they’re older and can “handle it” as if the last decade hasn’t been about watching rich middle aged men nuke their brains on Twitter and then run the USA via shitpost.
Dude. Yes. Alito and Thomas are of course the standout examples, but all of the Republican justices have tells in their writing and their questioning indicating that they are, to varying degrees, marinating their brains in dumb bitch juice
My theory, fwiw, is that Supreme Court Justices are not immune to Twitter brain poisoning. I suspect all six have horrific information environments and have therefore lost the ability to understand the people who don't agree with them.

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’
This is so disgusting.

I'm also tired of people using needle shots on stories like this.
