We know the names Sarah Beckstrom and Andrew Wolfe. Do we know Kevin Booker, Demetrius Alston, and David Warren Childs? All killed by DCPD last week, a police dept untethered by restraint since the start of the DC occupation. Our city is less safe, but it was never about that. tinyurl.com/2456cc46

West Virginia’s governor, Patrick Morrisey, is inventing reasons for the National Guard to occupy Washington, DC. We cannot let his outrageous fabrications take hold.

2) It's a lie that DC was hell on earth before their arrival
3) It's a lie that military occupation makes a city safer. It actually just amps up the specter of violence
4) Truth? They want to occupy our cities. That's it. tinyurl.com/2456cc46

A college student complaining about a grade on a paper is not national news. Not even close. The details have minimal import outside the class itself.

Well-funded political activists targeting profs and TAs—in this case because they're trans—with the help of elected state officials? National issue.

People need food. Market won’t provide it. Government should. It’s literally the whole point.
Turns out Mamdani's controversial proposal for government-run supermarkets isn't so novel. Other cities also are toying with the idea to bring fresh, affordable food to communities that do not have easy access to it. Good WSJ read (gift link)

Trump deported her there.

Make it easy on yourself and go to Settings and enable Require Alt Text.

Kids are the only thing keeping me from losing my mind, honestly.

You HAVE to put down the phone sometimes, you HAVE to put one foot in front of the other, you HAVE to make it through the day and hold it together.

The only experience I can really compare it to is sustained street protest.
I feel like it is very hard to function on a daily basis if you think too hard about how many things in the US are completely falling apart and/or actively being destroyed right now, which is one upside to being recently laid off
