Nope! In particular, learning how to learn (both from UChicago in general and my math through my degree field specifically) has been extremely useful in my career. That said, I did not overly burden myself with worrying about things like grades, and kept the focus on my own set of priorities.
FWIW, economists have long noted that education creates both human capital (skills) and social capital (connections, signaling).
🙃 Most would argue that skills still usually dominate (but others argue back). Lol, in your specific case, was what you learned truly unimportant?
