Kushner has no official position in the US government.

The idea that London has become less safe in recent years is quite strange - just look at how once "dangerous" areas have been transformed in recent years. Gentrification comes with its own issues but streets are packed with visitors and city far more welcoming than when I moved here a decade ago.

Five years ago, Trump incited a violent insurrection. Armed extremists stormed the Capitol to overturn an election.

I never thought I’d see an attempted coup in the United States.

January 6th was an assault on democracy. And no amount of whitewashing will erase the truth.

Bennie Thompson marked the Jan. 6 anniversary by playing a blistering montage exposing those who carried out the violent Capitol attack incited by Donald Trump. Five years later, the footage still hits hard and leaves nowhere to hide.

This is far worse repression than they have in Venezuela.

It was a bloody, unconstitutional, illegal armed rebellion and insurrection that killed or maimed many and was orchestrated by Donald Trump and his top allies in and out of Congress—and history will for centuries express astonishment that Trump wasn't imprisoned for life over it.

This is really bad; Grok is now going into is third day of regularly producing nonconsensual deepfake pornography and nobody is doing anything about it. The "Mechahitler" and "white genocide" episodes were stopped much more quickly. I suppose this tells us all about relative priorities.

There are a lot of conversations going on about the long-term shift but it's slow (because Europe always moves slowly and, to varying degrees, is tied into the US military).

Leaders are also prioritising Ukraine and are desperate to retain leverage on Zelensky's behalf.
"Vassal" talk is a bit much, but those Starmer (and other EU leaders tbf) statements read like all these people still believe, if we can just hold our breath for three more years, this nightmare will be over and we'll be back to singing Atlantic Kumbaya

The fundamental problem: you can't have an anti globalisation/migration, pro tech/innovation/growth policy. You can have investment in UK citizens/industrial policy alongside those approaches but UK can't do anti-globalisation growth.

We've proven this.

And "contribution" isn't some magic wand.

What on earth is this nonsense from a Blue Labour MP?

What, you want a policy targeting zero illness, no full time caring responsibilities, no skills mismatches or career breaks and you think we should heavily crack down on migration until we get there?

Just not serious policy/politics.
