what the fuck is in this game that it warrants some kind of weird unseen collusion to kill it and the studio making it.

Like forgive me for taking a conspiratorial tone here but this absolutely comes off as targeted. What the hell is going on here man.

When I hear claims that the US government pays more money policing who gets support for being disabled that it spends on actually supporting disabled people …

I 100% see how that is possible.
I didn't get an answer, so let's crowdsource

How do you effectively make the world accessible to people with disabilities while making sure people who don't need it don't take advantage but without denying access to people who need it?

i think the answer is "stop being a cop about it."
so how do you solve the problem without denying access to people who need it?

I think part of What's Going On with billionaires is that the daily friction of interacting with normal people is part of what anchors people to the real world, and once you have enough money to buy your way out of the friction you can knock down a load-bearing column propping up your sanity.

Your hands are covered in little men. And the little men can make you sick if you don’t give them a bath. Sometimes they make other people sick too. Please give the little men a bath! I’m not crazy! Just listen to me! Bathe the little men on your hands! This is real! Get the men wet, you fools!

The AI apocalypse continues. The amount of collateral damage from AI is truly staggering. This is not likely to end well.
Crucial is shutting down — because Micron wants to sell its RAM and SSDs to AI companies instead. It’s already getting hard to build an affordable PC, and the exit of the longstanding provider of consumer memory is going to make that even more challenging www.theverge.com/news/837594/...

Guys, I just made my house out of wood. It’s amazing, so much better than rocks.

We will be able to build whole cities out of trees, sky scrapers even!

We should cut down all the trees!!! It’s the future!!

-crash-

Okay we need steel. Steel for cities and skyscrapers….

Sorry forests.

people getting their spotify wrapped today: it's a great time to switch to another service. spotify is doubling and tripling down on taking ICE's business and running ads.

switching to tidal took me all of a few minutes and they made their own annual most-played thing anyway.

It's a complex, critically praised, but otherwise unremarkable book, released to no controversy and no backlash. No bookstores refused to sell it, and it even got translated from its original Spanish in to English.

If it were a video game every major platform would refuse to sell it.

The book deals with complicated topics - objectification of others, systemic misogyny, the meat industry, the way we reduce other people to their utility in our lives, the way that we have to opt-in to empathy, the way modern life separates us from the horrors our lives necessitate, etc.
