AI is going to make Woozles at record speeds, generating semi-correct or fully hallucinated content that is then ingested again & strengthens the incorrect information.

This "reification-by-accretion" process will poison the value of future models, which now have Woozle-fied training sets.
AI-Generated Data Can Poison Future AI Models
As AI-generated content fills the Internet, it’s corrupting the training data for models to come. What happens when AI eats itself?

Would love to ask the folks who lined up before dawn at Target for a swag bag “filled” with goodies and walked out with a reusable grocery bag and a pack of Uno cards, “how does it feel to get played?”

I honestly do not know why anyone is still loyal to that store. This is hilarious though 😂

Let me give some insight on this, as a producer in the dub industry who worked with major streamers, who's witnessed first-hand where this push for AI is coming from.

tl;dr: Only CEOs want this. Tell them how much you hate it. Be loud, email, call, @, post. You will kill this.

🧵⬇️
The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them

A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.

Now that Xinyan Huang has retracted his media statements, which he admits spread misinformation about bamboo scaffolding and the fire service’s response, I expect that @cnn.com, @reuters.com, @aljazeera.com, and every other outlet they quoted him will add corrections to their reporting.

Because it explains why so many chinese mainlanders, esp those who observed/took part in White Paper protests in 2022, are triggered by this incident, because White Paper also started with a fire in Urumqi where gov locked up the building for Covid-zero.

Given that #HongKong's ICAC did nothing to investigate the multiple accusations of police corruption during the city's 2019 upheaval (I can list a some if needed) do people there still trust this institution? Such a fall from grace for a body which started with such international fanfare. #China

“Metal is more fire-resistant than bamboo. But if the metal scaffold catches fire it will get hot. When it reaches a certain temperature, it becomes more prone to collapse. Regardless, if there's good management and rules are being followed, it is relatively safe to use either one."

Nearly every single day I have games like this clogging up my inboxes, and it's such a time wasting endeavour, as I have to sort through and filter out all the AI generated shovelware, and it just won't stop. No matter how clear I am that I am not interested in AI slopware, it keeps coming.

I do agree with the point that the man should be more demonstrative. Men have been conditioned and fed the notion to not show emotion and it comes out the other end as being cold and callous to someone you should be soft and warm with.
I still don’t know how I feel about any of this but I’ve heard this so much growing up

My old therapist said “the love should be equal but the man should be more demonstrative”
i 1000% believe in order for a relationship to work the man has to be more in love than the woman.

I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

There were rumors that a Filipino domestic helper was found dead in the fire while still holding the family's baby in her arms protecting him. News have reported that she actually survived, but currently in the ICU in critical condition

Her name is Rhodora Alcaraz. Hope she pulls thru 🙏

As I always do with boycotts, I urge: be tough with corporations, gentle with individual buyers. For some people, Black Friday sales are the way they get their kids jackets that fit, shoes that hold up to the weather. Yelling at them doesn’t help the cause.

This is a good time to remind everyone that the HK government has been trying to get rid of bamboo in order to cater to their pals in the China steel industry who cannot get into the HK construction market.

This was a regulatory/safety failure.

Not a materials one.

The photos of the Hong Kong fire are heartbreaking. What makes it even worse is knowing that the lack of press freedom and the absence of democratically elected leaders will only hinder a real investigation and meaningful accountability. 香港平安!香港加油!

Sure. But the fact that there were very few bamboo scaffolding related structure fires in Hong Kong over a period of 40 odd years, and then 3 in the space of 18 months suggests that regulatory failure, rather than materials, is the big problem here.
