Regardless of which president appoints them, trial court judges have to do the very basic work of deciding cases according to facts. I don't know how anyone who ends up in a Trump judge's courtroom is supposed to trust a legal system controlled by people who are this unhinged.
Trump Is Building a Federal Judiciary of Delusional, Cowardly Loyalists
Judges have to decide cases based on facts. For Trump judges, the only facts that matter are the ones that he authorizes them to believe.

What the scope and breadth of Epstein's contacts and incriminating emails show is that the rich and powerful view the rest of humanity as basically chattel, and that this is widespread and prevalent.

The current Democratic coalition is every single person who has any idea how society works, any interest in maintaining it, or any scraps of empathy for their fellow human beings, and that's about 47% of the country, tops.
People like to remark that the Democratic party spans from Rashida Tlaib to Bill Kristol at this point but the fact is that's a far too small coalition to reliably win nationally, lol.

International law no longer serves as an instrument of global stability—and the U.S. should use this moment to argue for a different approach to the rules of war, John Yoo argues.
A New International Law Can Rise From the Ashes
The United States should use this moment to argue for a different approach to the rules of war.

Pretti stepped up for a woman who’d been assaulted. He exercised his rights in the face of actual tyranny, not from a podcast booth. He seemed moral and decent. His valor reminds pus stains like Patel, Berry, & Watters that their macho shtick is sad and hollow. *Of course* they celebrate his murder.

I have spent my entire adult life being lectured by Republican politicians and conservative legal movement types about how important it is to preserve the sacred constitutional right to self-defense of *specifically this person* and then secret police murdered him in the street
Minneapolis police chief Brian O'Hara says that the victim was a 37-year-old white man and US citizen with no criminal record and that he was a legally permitted gun owner.

There were six or seven agents, trying to harm a man who looks unarmed and still they murdered him in broad daylight. These ICE agents are venal, incompetent, cowardly and this type of execution will keep on happening because they are an unchecked paramilitary force of scared men who crave power.

I understand why people dislike cops. But it's very important to recognize that ICE and DHS are not conducting themselves as cops. They are conducting themselves, at various moments, as an omnipresent secret police, and as a completely unaccountable invading army. Totally separate from policing.
ICE is not law enforcement, they are not police, they are paramilitary. Opposing ICE is not against law enforcement, it is not against police, it is against paramilitary.

And conversely, coverage of the election that first put Trump in office was utterly dominated by an issue of little substantive and absolutely no prurient interest nobody has even pretended to care about before or since
This is why I always emphasize that "the media just likes Trump for clicks and ratings" is not accurate. The Jeffrey Epstein scandal is the worst in political history and instead of sensationalizing it, they repeatedly minimize it and downplay it despite massive public interest
public perception says mainstream media is sensationalist, lusts for scandal, will make anything up to sell papers and get clicks etc.,

and then this particular president does like 10 scandals a day and mainstream media insists on describing his actions in the most uninteresting way possible

The justices keep returning to the hypo of a Fed governor posting pro-Nazi videos to ask whether that would meet the bar for for-cause removal. The idea that this kind of content would obviously cross the line seems a bit farcical given some of the material that DHS regularly posts on social media

We had endless articles and TV clips about Biden's mental capacity but silence about Trump's obvious unfitness when he says he's going to start a war with Denmark over Greenland because he didn't get the Nobel Peace Prize.
Not the sort of letter committed to paper by a well man. "Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace"
