As I say goodbye to Twitter, I want to make sure to share my #SuperMarioMaker2 “game” here as well. Some of these levels are more polished than others, but I’m still proud of the end result.

My Maker ID is VYD-354-DCG.
Going back Kirby Air Riders to clean up some of the challenge boards. I appreciate how a lot of them are little puzzles. How much can you mess with all of the characters/machines/options to break the game wide open in pursuit of mostly pointless stickers and knickknacks?

I don’t open Facebook very often but whenever I do (and no matter how often I try to opt out), I’m bombarded with ads for the ModRetro Game Boy. I guess when you have weapon dealer money, you can just shove this thing down our throats.

(I understand why FB thinks I’m the target demo but I hate it.)

The GOP didn't have the votes for many years but that didn't stop them from pulling out every procedural trick possible while screaming at Dems on TV. And now they're in charge.
Lot of people yelling recently "but we don't have the votes!" True! That doesn't mean "immediately quit." (Also not what propter is saying here, to be clear.) It means create a spectacle, make things cause celebres, make the Republican position untenable.

Create bargaining position and force votes.

i think the existence of this show should make those of us who are so online do some reflection. if the studio felt there was really a strong anti-rowling sentiment out there they wouldnt be doing it, it wouldnt be worth the hassle. online jk's bigotry is a given but i doubt most people know of it.

I'm deeply sorry to the people of Venezuela. There is no opposition party in the United States to counter the fascist regime's actions and the population is easily demagogued.

Game of the Year list locked in! In spite of *everything* happening in the industry and the world at large, I found 2025 to be pretty exceptional in terms of variety, creativity and ambition. Hoping next year can offer even just a bit more stability for developers (even if I’m not terribly hopeful).

As an aggressively awful STG player, I really appreciate the flexibility of Earthion’s design. I actually finished the game on normal difficulty (!) and didn’t even burn through all of my continues (!!) before the credits rolled. Just had to hold onto that flamethrower for dear life.

The past few nights, I’ve booted up The Rogue Prince of Persia with the expectation that I’d do a quick “warm-up run” before playing something else, only to get completely sucked in. Evil Empire folks know what they’re doing.

In the past week, I've seen stories of AI:
- being used by middle schoolers to make porn of other students
- calling innocent people sex offenders
- shutting down highways with busted-ass self-driving cars
- emitting more CO2 than New York City

What the fuck are we even doing?
New from me: The storied fiddler Ashley MacIsaac wanted to play a show at a Nova Scotia First Nation. It got cancelled because Google's AI search summary incorrectly called him a sex offender. Now he's worried for his safety www.theglobeandmail.com/culture/arti...

Who coined "Metroidvania"? It wasn't @jparish.bsky.social, and he'll be the first to tell you. Besides, there are far more interesting questions, like: How did it spread? Evolve? And what's it got to do with rickrolling?

Watch til the end for a post-credits sting.
