I edited the worst writer I have ever read for TWELVE YEARS until he was finally let go this year. I’ve never mentioned it until now.
The only argument AGAINST editors is that the only reason we have Stephen A is because of a brilliant editor at The Inky that fixed his crap day after day back in the mid 90s
Seriously everything, EVERYTHING about the RFK/Nuzzi/LIzza moment is an argument for a newsroom where you pitch stories in front of each other and editors who shield you from your own worst impulses.

Getting out a highlighter pen and scraping it back and forth across the “All of DC media needs to be thrown into the sea”
To be clear Lizza’s story is that Nuzzi sat on important matters of national significance for personal benefit and he’s sat on these details until he could personally benefit.

All of DC media needs to be thrown into the sea. Anyone who defends these people is a goddamn clown.

Quentin Tarantino Slams ‘Hunger Games’ as ‘Battle Royale’ Ripoff: “Sue Suzanne Collins For Ever F—king Thing She Owns” — World of Reel
“Hunger Games” author Suzanne Collins has long denied any direct connection to the Japanese film — a claim that grows harder to buy each time the similarities are stacked side by side.

I watched the 1977 documentary "Harlan County, USA" last night and it has hands-down the evillest fucker I've ever seen in a film, a "site foreman" the mining company uses as a strike breaker.

Bloomin' onions don't travel! Can't imagine the gloppy mess in that styrofoam go box
I assume that getting steak and lobster dinners with 20,000 calories of appetizers for your whole family delivered by personal chauffeur is inexpensive again now that Uncle Joe Brandon is out of the White House at least

In a comedy writers room you have to know SO MUCH about what white men ages 36-65 think is PEAK COMEDY that I’m not surprised by this list at all. You must understand the Spaceballs references, you must pretend you are not afraid when you’re shown Sam Kinison’s angry shark eyes.
The movie listed at #1 is so incredibly misplaced that it calls into question the veracity of the entire list. It belongs on the list, yes, but SO MUCH further down. An absolute, credibility-wrecking flub. Boo, @variety.com! Boo!

The best thing I learned from Macaulay Culkin at last night’s Home Alone screening is that his 4yo son loves the movie, thinks of himself as Kevin, and has no idea that that’s his dad. Culkin is attempting to hide that fact for as long as possible
