Of all the things I dislike about the modern age of Discourse, the projection of intent might be first and foremost.

You know what the text did, how it affected you personally, and what trends it may reflect or reinforce. You likely have *no fucking clue* as to creative intent based on text alone.

"The message is clear," says Dan Froomkin about A.G. Sulzberger's recent speech.

"One: You will earn my displeasure if you warn people too forcefully about the possible end to democracy at the hands of a deranged insurrectionist. And two: You prove your value to me by trolling our liberal readers."

Good advice
Remove dates of when you graduated college, and remove dates on jobs that go back more than 10-15 years. Summarize those as "other previous positions include..." and just list the titles and companies.

Again: did this with my mom's resumes and she started getting calls again. I also do it on mine
My wife (early 40s) is job hunting and it seems to be an issue already. Do you have any suggestions? Many thanks.

This is Sylvia Gonzalez. At age 72, she won an upset victory for city council after campaigning to oust the city manager. The mayor didn't like that.

So he had her arrested & jailed.

The Supreme Court is about to hear her case, which has largely gone unnoticed. A thread.
