I never got to meet Kaleb Horton, save for a few DMs on the old site where I told him how much I treasured his work. Horton was an incredible writer who never got close to the acclaim he deserved. His work is all over Bluesky this AM. Read any of them. This story blew me away archive.ph/RrjPI
The ballad of the Chowchilla bus kidnapping
In 1976, a school bus carrying 26 children and their driver disappeared from a small California town. Forty-five years later, we revisit the story.

Gutted at the news that Kaleb Horton is gone. Kaleb was a brilliant writer, of course, but he was also a gifted photographer. Years ago I encouraged him to sell his pieces. His work was so good, I told him, and people should see it.

Here are some of his beautiful shots.

Just 10 members of Congress have even dared to call Israel's mass murder in Gaza a genocide. Meanwhile, they're straight up murdering journalists. The gulf between what's happening and what most of our leaders will acknowledge is so remarkably vast.
