So we have this narrative in the UK as well which handily ignores a) we have a resurgence of rickets and scurvy due to malnutrition and b) if people are stealing food FIND OUT WHY THEY ARE HUNGRY.
But no, it’s wall to wall ‘supermarket gangs are stealing booze!’ And the posh are the ones buying.

So many people are too stupid to figure out the "shoplifting crisis" thing never existed and stores just do this as an excuse to have fewer people working the floor.
