Authors been dunking on this all day, but let me say to my fellow white men: there are roughly 95M of us in America. NINETY. FIVE. MILLION. If you can't answer the question of what makes YOU unique in the year of our Lord 2025, during peak Attention Economy, God help you cause less diversity won't.

Imagine watching Sinatra, son of Dolly & Antonini born in Genoa & Sicily, respectively, and Martin, son of Gaetano & Angela, born in Montesilvano, Italy & Ohio respectively, (Angela to parents born in Monasterolo, Italy), and crusading against the value of children of immigrants to the U.S.

Is the bigger societal problem a widening income gap leading to widespread poverty and homelessness, or haunted BBL due to cadaver butt.

Discuss.

The fact they treat prompt writing as a coveted skill is such a tragic self-own and they don’t even get it. Society is being pressed through cheesecloth by illiterati.

The number of things I love about these last #StrangerThings episodes are uncountable. I love the arc of all the characters, and still so much more...arc-ing...to come.

I'm going to miss this series no matter how it winds up.

The problem with this piece, like all the other pieces, is that the missing hed, dek, & lede is that all of this was wildly illegal, unconstitutional, & criminal. This is how you normalize lawless authoritarianism - treat like just another story in our politics. “Transformation” is lazy euphemism.
This WaPo piece weaves together an incredibly powerful story about the way Trump has devastated government and the dedicated people who wake up every day to serve the public. wapo.st/4b14KAy

How DOGE and the White House carried out a once-unthinkable transformation of the nation’s sprawling bureaucracy.

@joehenderson.bsky.social Not sure if you remember me from the White Collar days...I sent the cast a foot to sign? For @valshopaholic.bsky.social?

I have a kid going to college next year who wants to do screenwriting! We're looking at colleges in NY (she wants to stay close to home). Any advice?

I keep thinking about that Ray Bradbury quote?

"We are all cups, constantly and quietly being filled. The trick is, knowing how to tip ourselves over and let the beautiful stuff out."

And how what so many of us are being filled with is darkness and horror.

I think it’s also true that loneliness among women has historically been treated as an individual problem, while loneliness among men is treated as a societal problem. That, in turn, comes from an assumption that women are supposed to earn the company of others while men are entitled to it.
men’s loneliness gets “more airtime”?

baby I have lived the past three decades of my life witnessing corporate media elevate men’s loneliness into a full-blown balls-to-the-wall CRISIS once every 4-5 years

“more airtime” is hilarious

The anti-Semitic mass shooting in Australia will cause a national conversation and policy change. We know this because the 1996 Port Arthur massacre led to significant restrictions on guns.
The shooting at Brown will do nothing. We know this because it occurred on the anniversary of Sandy Hook.

The New School was founded by Columbia University professors who wanted a university run by the faculty with minimal administration. For over 100 years it has been a unique institution with progressive values and incredible students and faculty from Ai Weiwei to Hannah Arendt. We are devastated.
Last week, the New School issued voluntary separation & early retirement offers to 40% of the full-time faculty & the majority of non-union staff. These cuts to the bone are an ideological attempt to decimate historic spaces of critical inquiry & social justice. Share our statement tr.ee/qQBIDCpIuj

I am 55 whole years old and in my entire life, there has never been a year where I bought tubes of wrapping paper and they didn't tumble out of my shopping bag 5 seconds after leaving the store.

I really feel like technology should have solved this by now.

Actually, yeah. This is probably it.
I think the thing that Mamdani has here that other Dems don't is that he owes no loyalty to the old guard. A lot of Trump's mortal enemies actively tried to stop Mamdani. With a big smile, he beat the Dems that Trump hates and made them sad on TV. That's all Trump cares about.
Trump frickin' loves this guy lmao
November 21, 2025 at 10:09 PM
It also occurs to me that Trump may still have a lot of properties in NYC, and if he doesn't want an exodus of rich people, making luxury real estate values plummet, he might need to stop telling everyone to be scared of Mamdani.

IDK if that's a factor, but it might be.
Trump says more nice things about Mamdani and they shake hands

Mamdani has the same vibe talking with Trump publicly that Zelenskyy does.

They go there knowing what they have to get out of the man for the sake of their citizens, they get their talking points in, and they get out.
