A trans woman with a PhD who just wants the government to let her live her life in peace
I was so lucky - when I approached my GP 25 years ago he already had a trans patient and knew what to do. He made me an appointment with the practice psychologist who chatted to me for 30 minutes and concluded there could be no doubt I was trans. Obviously CXH under Richard Green was another matter…
I really think the people who say "anyone can call themselves trans these days" imagine some kind of past where you'd go to the doctor feeling poorly, men in white coats run a battery of tests and then, eventually, the doctor says solemnly "I'm sorry, I'm afraid I have to diagnose you with trans"
"Letting trans folks Self-ID is a problem!"

How the fuck else do we determine we're trans if not through self-identifying? You have to figure out you're trans (or might be) before you can even begin the process of fighting through the system to transition. This is fucking stupid.

I really think a meeting between @zackpolanski.bsky.social and the WellBN parents and their trans children would be so powerful. As a member of the Greens I’d love to see it happen. 💚
. @zackpolanski.bsky.social please meet with the parents of the WellBN patients.

NHS Sussex is forcing dehumanising and abusive conversion practices on them.

I took up playing piano 18 months - 2 years ago. I’m not doing the exams, but at my lesson today my teacher told me I’ve been playing Grade 1 pieces well and she’s given me some Grade 2 pieces to work on. I‘m so happy because finding the energy to practice has been difficult over the last few months
Since Trans Joy Tuesday got such a great response last week, let’s do it again.

For the trans people out there, let’s offset all the bad news and share something happy going on with you.

Whether it’s big or small, please share your joy!

My community isn’t the target of Labour’s latest racist scheme, which only highlights how blatantly racist it is, and I want no part in it. Solidarity, always.

We’ve caused so much harm to many of the refugees being targeted, and that it all ties back to oil and gas exploitations. It’s disgusting.

I was at my hairdressers yesterday and “That” Christmas song was on the radio. Luckily it was the edited version, but it’s way too early to have to put up with that again!

The remaining gendered facilities could then be made trans-inclusive.

trans women are not 'biological men'. anyone claiming that we are is engaging in science denialism.

it is transphobic to describe us that way. we have changed our physiology using medical science.

it is an attempt by transphobic columnists, pundits, and politicians to erase our existence.

I was warning people not to share this post TWO MONTHS ago and people are STILL sharing it!

Come on now people, you KNOW Streeting REALLY doesn’t want you to keep sharing it widely and at every possible opportunity.
It has come to my attention that many of you have been sharing this photo of Streeting and Mandelson widely.

Please remember that Wes Streeting does not like it being shared widely. So please do not share it widely and on every possible occasion. We wouldn’t want to upset him would we?

The EHRC are an incompetent national embarassment, fully reflective of the out of touch, corrupt and amoral political and media classes, but representative of noone else in the country.

It needs completely gutting and rebuilding from first principles.

1/ I’ve been having a wobbly couple of days. The general background pressures of being trans in the UK, work, my very old car being in for an MOT earlier this week and my freeholder trying to stop me having my hot water tank replaced all took their a toll. I started acting irrationally on Thursday.

Right. You just repeatedly use expert intervener status to advocate for one-sided legal strategy targeting a protected group, then write the most hate-inciting interpretation of the law you advocated for.

I’m seeing a lot of Labour supporters on here badgering trans folk to vote for their party again because Reform might be even worse than they are. Give it a rest - Labour represent nothing but cruelty, segregation and oppression to me. I will never vote for a party that means me harm.
