Coming to the conclusion that you don’t have to care about kids who die because you’ve decided all of them are rightwing republicans and none of them could possibly be LGBTQ doesn’t mean you’re playing by reactionary rules, it means you’ve adopted their ideology and are currently trying to spread it

This being so geeked about a concentration camp you're wearing its branded merch because you are that sadistic. That's America whiteness! Trump did not invent that. White Americans have always taken sick pleasure in cruelty against the other. They brought picnics to lynchings & left with souvenirs.

If so, it is time to start crafting some cool-ass laws. What a time to be a state legislator or an AG in a blue state. The Supreme Court just said you no longer have a boss. It's the last day of school, Democratic state majorities and AGs! Time to abuse some power.

IDF soldiers have now themselves admitted they have been ordered to murder aid-seekers in Gaza.

Truly an atrocity built on atrocity.

yes it’s a big mystery why people who think empathy is evil don’t become therapists
The idea that conservative ideology should be equally represented in everything is ironically a very liberal idea

I have spoken to rooms full of nondisabled people and heard this ripple of tense laughter. I have told my own story of flipping a car on black ice and people straight up told me they would just drive more carefully.

They can’t handle the idea that you can’t wellness and responsibility your way out.
Sen. Tammy Duckworth just said on Colbert, "We should all live long enough to develop a disability," & the audience laughed uncomfortably.

I can tell you what they were thinking. It was "Not me. That would never happen to me."

& the underlying, unacknowlged premise was "b/c I'm better than that."

The Trump Administration wants people who will cost more money to society over the rest of their lifespan than they will generate in economic output during that time to die. It's really not more complicated than that.
Trump Republicanism at its finest.

Almost every comment on this article about the loss of a therapeutic program for farmers (whose voting histories are not disclosed) struggling with mental health is some variation of “they deserve it.” “Let them suffer.”

Even though they are human beings. Even though you claim to be, too.
In 2023, a program connecting Utah farmers and ranchers to free therapy vouchers was so successful, the federal money ran out in four months.

“I want you to know,” the program director recalled one recipient telling him, “that this saved my life.”

With @sltrib.com
Utah Farmers Signed Up for Federally Funded Therapy. Then the Money Stopped.
Farmers are dying by suicide at the third-highest rate by vocation in Utah. But after a federal program offering mental health support ran out of money, the state did not continue it.
