Such an incredible thread of information almost entirely hidden by the mainstream news.
THREAD: It's been one year since the mob attack on UCLA's Palestine Solidarity Encampment. Most of what you've heard about this is completely wrong. I filed a lawsuit with a team of lawyers against UCLA and the mob attackers two weeks ago. Here's the real story. 1/13

Incredible how the stranglehold that the super-rich and their political allies have over us has never been as constantly visible or as flagrant, and yet there are STILL people who feel those systems crushing them but decide to blame it on migrants and asylum seekers. The lack of focus is maddening.

Why is everything so unspeakably awful?
On top of total capture of COP by the fossil fuel industry, we now have "Amazon forest felled to build road for climate summit."

At what point do we acknowledge what is now plainly obvious: that this is not the solution, but a big part of the problem, a coverup for BAU?

And they’re already calling for the likely future leader of the Democratic Party—a nonwhite woman—to be put in a cage. Twitter has many tweets like the one below.

Everyone needs to understand: America is on very limited time now.

Fascism is here.

Outstanding take
They'd get a lot more value for money teaching transition year kids to hack drones and make petrol bombs, because *they'll* be our line of defence when the same people who insisted we waste two billion on the Army are having dinner with the occupying forces a week after they land.

The amount of "What the fuck, are you serious?!" news in the cycle is just baffling at this stage. I'm sure that's the point but I literally don't have enough time to figure out how outraged I am and why before the next mind fuck comes along. I guess I'll just have to buy more stuff.

I'm a big rugby fan but have to say I agree with the players here.
40+ players and staff taking 6 flights for a single game. What was the carbon cost of this one game? What's the annual carbon cost of the SA clubs moving north? It's completely unsustainable.

When billionaires are doing this and anyone believes Amazon workers shouldn’t make $30/hr or more it just baffles me. Putting other workers down has never lifted any of us up. Not once.
Why I am fine with Eat the Rich:

Jeff Bezos announcing that he's marrying his next wife, Lauren Sanchez, in a lavish $600m ceremony. They live in Florida. $600m would cover 2 years of FL k-12 free lunch programs. Last year the state discontinued the office that helped schools file for free lunches.

Fascinating to see how this all plays out. I don't buy that this about referee payments and those talking about refs probably know there is a lot more here. Reports of stadium revenues increasing without attendance going up after going cashless are eye raising
Previous advice given by #GAA to counties in 2012 following consultation with Revenue. 28.5% tax rate for casual workers no longer applicable and they have to be taxed on their own personal rate.
