I think it was @mugrimm.bsky.social who pointed out W Bush set up the scaffolding for the current situation by removing the requirement that federal employees must have degrees from accredited institutions
One reason it’s hard to get equal representation from conservatives in research and education and culture is that there’s no intellectual underpinning to conservatism. Any analysis is backfilled to justify activity and policy motivated entirely by animus. If it’s ever correct, that’s coincidence.
