For better or worse, public figures are judged when they die — their character, contributions, beliefs. It's undeniable that millions have mourned Rob Reiner's tragic death, celebrating his talent and contributions. I suspect when a certain public figure kicks the bucket, sentiments wont be the same

Irresponsibility is the government’s job.

I have far more sympathy for the NHS workers than I do for the charlatan in number 10.
Keir Starmer has said that resident doctors have “lost the sympathy” of the public and their NHS colleagues, after members of the BMA voted to continue strike action this week

On Monday, the PM told MPs that he was “really gutted” by the decision, and described it as "irresponsible"

Honestly, Polanski's strategy of actively drawing attention to how much all of the most venal, morally bankrupt assholes of the universally reviled British media class hate him, and how utterly disdainful he is of them in return is a) excellent political maneuvering, and b) extremely funny.
The Spectator have not yet had a full on right wing melt down.

They're very close, though!

I’m going to tell people this was a Renault Espace.
A mini-bus built at the FSO factory in 1978. It was used to give tours around the factory. #weirdcarbs

“Oh this is appalling” from the party that allowed it to happen.

Like Robert says, crocodile tears.

Fuck Labour.
What a 2-faced liar! UK MP, whose govt persecutes trans ppl & incites hate against them, weeping crocodile tears as she bans them from public life. This is in breach of the EuroCHR & she knows! If the Supreme Court says the law is wrong, then it’s her job to change the law, not appease fascism

Holy CRAP.

Retired engineer takes random pics of *kids*, without consent or attribution, bins them into “autistic” or “not autistic”, and uploads that “data” for free on Kaggle.

Well over a HUNDRED papers are published, 38 in Springer Nature, 25 in IEEE, using it.

And no reviewers objected? WTF.🧪
Springer Nature retracts, removes nearly 40 publications
The dataset contains images of children’s faces downloaded from websites about autism, which sparked concerns at Springer Nature about consent and reliability.

Labour are attacking Greens. Fine. I have yet to see any party that has entirely affordable aspirations.

But at least the Greens HAVE aspirations.

Labour have seemingly decided the status quo cannot be touched, even when it doesn't work for 90% of people, or the viability of life on the planet.

If they don’t already hate you and work to fuck you up, then sooner or later they’re going to roll dice and consult their little table of petty hatreds, and it’ll be you that’s next.
Freeman's going to whittle down the whole of humanity until the only people who are socially acceptable are herself and daughter-marrying elderly filmmakers who have been credibly accused by the children they didn't marry of abuse
then, the transphobes , feeling victorious at how many people they have made unhappy and despairing in the previous week, move on to anything else that has a spectrum and the possibility of more colours than they can conceive - such hateful people - they cannot understand anything that is not THEM
