Canadians deserve to have a say over if, how, and to what extent AI is part of our future. The government is only listening to industry voices and that needs to change.

That's why I'm participating in the People's Consultation on AI, and I *strongly* encourage you to do the same.

I believe Avi Lewis is the leader the NDP needs right now.

He’s someone who gives us hope, unites our movements, and offers bold, inspiring solutions to tackle affordability while upholding human rights without qualification or exception. (1/2)
A profound honour to have this endorsement from MP @leahgazan.bsky.social, one of our movement’s strongest and most principled leaders.

Join the NDP. Let’s win this race — and let’s win a government that serves the many, not the money.

I hope all the people who did their darndest to create a "we went too far on policing" narrative in the post-2020 whitelash see that their blathering apologism justifies every fascist thing ICE, the FBI, the DEA, and other law enforcement agencies are doing rn.

6 years, still no clean air in schools. There has been a huge increase in sickness absence since 2019 due to COVID. Policy isn’t keeping pace with the science. Ignoring #Longcovidkids is part of the problem.

As a physician who masks in public spaces to avoid getting and transmitting COVID, it has nothing to do with anxiety & everything to do with science: not acutely killing the elderly I love & those I serve, not transmitting serious chronic autoimmune and vascular disease to 10% of those infected 1/2
I spoke to the people who continue to shape their lives around avoiding Covid and only breathing ‘clean’ air

‘Refusing to mask during an ongoing pandemic is absolutely violent and it’s undeniably participating in social murder.’

- covid is airborne
- people are getting it repeatedly
- it’s wrecking immune systems

N95s can prevent more than just Covid!

They stop colds, flus and other airborne illness.

They’re also highly effective against pollen, pollution, wildfire smoke and environmental triggers.

Many maskers haven’t been sick in years.

Respirators are pretty amazing.

I just want to make this *abundantly clear*.

When “experts” say COVID-19 is mild for kids…

THEY HAD, AND HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TEN YEARS WORTH OF INFECTIONS WILL CAUSE.

Yes.

Yes kids should be wearing masks in schools and being given cleaner air.

Those masks should be comfy and cheap.

Why?

Because kids are getting sick with a disease that we know very little about, and what we do know, is looking problematic.

In fact, just wear a damned mask whether you’re sneezing or not since asymptomatic transmission is significant
Again: if you are attending a meeting and start coughing or sneezing in response to an oncoming cold, excuse yourself. Or at least wear a damned mask.
