Would not be surprised if this is -exactly- what this feature was implemented for.

Well within Musk's ethos to bring in something that discourages women from posting - clearly trying to regress to the days where simply being a woman online was seen as an invitation for sexual harassment.
So we just accept this then? This is a legitimate use of technology going forward? This vile individual's account is just prompt after prompt asking Al to alter real-life images of women. The law needs to catch up with technology now - because we can't trust these tech companies to police themselves

Gen AI is a tool of late stage capitalism, the goal of which is to cognitively disable everyone not in the elite class. To Sam Altman and co, the likes of you and me are NPCs, our role is to consume and spend so they can accumulate wealth and power. But it will only work if we allow it to.

They literally all went to the same university. Their policies on immigration are barely distinguishable, they all identify government with administrating austerity, they've all backed the genocide in Gaza. Thinking people like this are sooo different is itself what people hate about our politics.

I wish a joyous Christmas to all who celebrate. May you have a truly wonderful time 🎄🎅.

This #Roman glass spherical bottle would make great #Christmas bauble, but it was used to hold perfume and loose powder. The contents were sealed inside the delicate cosmetic container, and...🧵1/2

IQ is a measure of how good you are at IQ tests, which is something informed by how familiar you are with taking academic tests (& thus the quality of your school, which is in part determined by your parents' wealth, etc). there's nothing in particular that makes them a good test of intelligence

🔹Major sleep disorder scuppered my initial career plans (creative writing - likely dodged a bullet there!)
🔹Long-held interest in and broad scope of archaeology made it the perfect choice

“If Labour don’t do this, we’ll get a Reform government”

Trans people, disabled people, migrants, people of colour and people seeking asylum already have a Reform government.

You just want to feel superior to those who like the idea of Nigel Farage as PM.

To reiterate, this is about making life immeasurably more miserable and stressful for some of the most vulnerable people, in the almost certainly vain hope of winning over the votes of racists.

Anything more shabby and shameful is difficult to envisage.

Sorry, experts claim standard time 'realign[s] our internal clocks with the sun'? Only if everyone's bed-time is 4pm in winter.

Which is what it feels like it should be, tbf.

You can take your measly recommended 7 hours sleep and plug the dam of late capitalism with it.

This govt *hates* disabled people doesn't it?
You all must be in work! But you can't have Access to Work! You can't have independence payments! You can't get the bus in time for work but you also can't have motability! You can't have covid vaccines but when you don't recover it's not our problem.
🚨 NEW: Rachel Reeves is set to target the Motability scheme

- Remove tax breaks at the Budget to save around £1bn
- Examining options to restrict eligibility and remove luxury vehicles, like BMWs
