So much of American history is just impulsive and extremely stupid elites, who don't believe in consequences because they have never personally experienced them, doing highly consequential stuff because they're bored or believe it might make them richer. I guess a lot of our culture, too.

In the midst of my first submission process and I have to say, the waiting game from publishers is stressing me out and it’s only been a month. I am grateful I’ve gotten this far at all, but man, this is tough. I guess if you’re into edging this would be fun?

This is simply untenable. There is no way forward with media and political classes captured by the right. Every time someone commits a crime you have to pray it's not an undesirable or it's purge time, then when it turns out to be themselves again they just shrug and wait for the next one.
