Ah, I feel like I'm in China again. Sweet familiarity...
And now someone has uploaded a version that wasn't filmed off a TV.

There's also the torrent link there, which is probably the fastest way to download the 60 Minutes segment on CECOT if you want to save the file locally to your computer.

Of course I'm worried about socialism. I mean, just imagine if Mamdani one day becomes President and nationalizes industry, imposes historic tax hikes, goes after the media, builds a secret national police force, militarizes the country, and sends people to camps.

You know, healthcare funders are very much putting a cost on a life when they decide that $500,000 is not "cost effective" for life-saving therapy when it has a 90% chance of success in cancers like B-ALL. #CCRC2025

I see over the weekend, America unlocked the “leader hasn’t been seen for a few days, is he dead?” level of authoritarianism.

As a historian of China, let me welcome you into our club, here's a T-Shirt and official tote bag. The open bar starts service in five minutes. 热烈欢迎!

Imagine waking up, finding out that everyone thought you were dead ... & everyone was just ecstatic....

This is never a final deal with Trump. There is only a lull until he senses that his leverage has returned.
1/EU-US deal quickly unraveling. This is not a new peace where Europe can go about its business. Instead, it is a steady drip of asks/coercion, which threaten not only profits but also national security. Latest US target: Digital.

so it goes. Many of the troops who put down the Paris commune were foreign legionnaires or Bretons; a lot of the units deployed to Beijing in 1989 came from out west in Shaanxi.
I predicted this last year -- red state National Guard sent into blue cities and states. A recipe for disaster. Sending rural troops into a city they don't know or understand

He says they’ll be “providing mission-essential equipment, specialized training, and approximately 300-400 skilled personnel as directed. The mission will be funded at the federal level.”

No, UCSF, do NOT hire him back.
One thing I will be following up on:

Will UCSF welcome him back now after his clear embrace of anti-vax bullshit and brief tenure in the most openly hostile anti-science administration in modern history?
