A nation filled with second lines would be a wondrous thing
I know, I know. Everything these days is … well it’s a lot. And maybe your righteous outrage bucket is full. And fair enough.

But if there’s room for another few drops, read this thread. Your cup will overfloweth.
Being among the first interrogated and ultimately fired by DOGE, I certainly felt we were facing the business end of a right-wing conspiracy theory 🧵
DOGE was not a money-saving effort. It was an effort to chase down and prove right-wing conspiracy theories. They went after USAID to prove conspiracy theories about foreign aid. Then they went after SSA to, again, pursue conspiracy theories about Dems paying "illegals" to vote. 1/2

Every answer should be Marshawn Lynch. Hell, I’d have him sitting at the table next to me.

I am truly sorry this man has never had decent pie.
The dirty secret of pies is that they have the lowest ceiling potential of all sweets. Your best pie is merely fine. Your median pie is bad.

Oyster stuffing is off our menu too. Not because I don’t like it, but because I can’t find a recipe that approaches what my grandmother (aunt?) made.
I like oysters and I like stuffing, but I do NOT like oyster stuffing. Or creamed oysters. I’m good.

The University of Tennessee offensive linemen seem to all wear knee braces on both knees all the time. I guess it’s possible they’ve all had knee injuries on both legs, but I think the training staff is prescribing the braces as a prophylactic. I hope this trend catches on.

When “our long national nightmare is over” it will be very tempting not to want to think of it ever again.

But we will have to.
There are going to be prominent Democrats and mainstream media voices who insist that we have to "turn the page" and "forgive and forget" and they should all be roundly ignored, if not mercilessly mocked.
It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.

We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.

We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.

God, what have you done?
You're a pink pony girl
And you dance at the club
Oh mama, I'm just having fun
On the stage in my heels
It's where I belong

It’s Webkinz all over again, but worse
Big kid has had to explain to friends why they're not allowed on Roblox and it goes a bit like "because my dad works in tech"
Every parent whose career has to do with online safety also bans Roblox.

Honey get the kids in the car now put the cash in the trunk get the keys let's go
Hit the biggest bank in Chicago for all it had we're the thieves you know
Remember the thing that I told ya three years two moons ago?
Promise I'll be right behind you but you're gonna die if you don't hit the road
Jesus died for somebody's sins, but not mine
Melting in a pot of thieves, wild card up my sleeve
Thick, heart of stone, my sins, my own
They belong to me, me
People said, "Beware", but I don't care
Their words are just rules and regulations to me, me

Imagine having a mayor who can hang with Yo-Yo Ma.
An honor and dream come true to perform alongside Yo-Yo Ma, presented by Celebrity Series at Boston Symphony Hall. 💜

Colton Moore is the state senator for Greene’s district. My guess is he’s probably going to run for her seat. From his wedding …

Behind this important reversal is a member of the Coast Guard who saw what was happening and had the courage to leak it to the press. That person deserves serious praise.

So the question is, do the cultists think this is genuine or do they recognize this is fabricated bullshit and yet love the message? (not sure what the message actually is in this case).

Nah man. Those heinous people have cheated the system for like $250 a month.

Never mind the system has cheated then for 3? 5? 7? generations?
No one “deserves” to starve or be denied healthcare.

The richest country in the world can easily provide for all, and people shouldn’t have to prove they matter to be fed, housed & cared for.

It’s past time for a universal basic income, universal healthcare, affordable housing & food.

I’m reminded of the immense environmental change that happened while people hunkered down during the pandemic.

Even 30 days of some of us just staying put was eye-opening for me.

And I recognize stating home wasn’t an option for many.
I’ve lived in my area, along the same river, for 45 years (minus a couple stints away).

The change in the river, the return of wildlife, and the improvement in the entire environment is so dramatic from when we moved here.

Going backwards is not an option.

The political problem here, similar to fascism, is people have forgotten how *bad* it was.

When Nixon is the one signing the clean water act, you know things were BAD bad.

But now we’ve kidded ourselves into believing the free market cleaned things up because it was good for business.
Literally just lectured about this!

In the late 1960s, air quality was so bad in several cities they had to turn on the street lights during the day so drivers could see. And yeah, the Cuyahoga River was so polluted it literally caught on fire.
Oh, I don’t know. Our rivers no longer catch on fire and our air is far less poisonous than it used to be, even in smog bowls like Los Angeles. And I think those are good things.

Which is why I was disappointed that the feds will take this case. The Chief says it like it’s a good thing. Is *this* DOJ gonna prosecute someone from a fed branch they’ve been colluding with?
When you assemble a squad of thugs and tell them they're above the law, don't be shocked if they start behaving as if they're above the law.
An ICE employee was among 16 men arrested after trying to solicit a minor for sex in Bloomington, Minnesota, police say

"When he was arrested, he said, 'I'm ICE, boys,'" Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges said during a press conference. "Well, unfortunately for him, we locked him up."
