The cultural impact of Rob Reiner cannot be understated. Legend isn't big enough a word. It goes to 11. You can't handle the truth. As you wish. I'll have what she's having. I'm your number one fan. You guys wanna see a dead body? The very idea of a bucket list. The West Wing.

All from his movies.

my favorite thing about the benoit blanc movies is that they aren't really about benoit blanc. he is not grappling with demons from his past. we are not getting flashbacks to the husband whose murder he never solved. he just shows up and does his job like mary poppins for homicides

OFFICIALLY-LICENSED AI GOOFY: Gawrsh, buddy! It seems like you've got it all figured out! All signs points to you being gang-stalked by enough people to fill a theme park! I guess you're going to have to take matters into your own hands, ah-hyuck!

it's actually kinda funny in a way to get to the finish line of curing cancer and having the government go eh you know what. never mind
A tiny trial in New York has shown that personalized mRNA vaccines can provoke massive, lasting immune responses against pancreatic cancer, even as sweeping federal cuts now threaten the fragile labs required to produce them.

Sure, but that’s not my dead grandmother, that’s a chatbot wearing her Facebook posts like she’s been skinned and replaced by a serial killer

however many trillions spent on developing Algorithms and hoovering up as much data as possible and amazon's recommendation algorithm still goes "oh you bought one window air conditioner? okay, do you want 15 more?"

As some of you are aware, part of Dragon Age day was to thank the DA Devs for all the hard work they put into the series we love so much.

This is also the first DA Day where we have no DA team, as they were laid off earlier this year.

So let's make an effort to support their new projects!🧵

the thing about extreme content in video games is that the most appalling taboo porn game on the internet is still more artstically valid and has more reason to exist than Roblox

I heard folks taking like "you've gotta check out this 'slurmcore' stuff, the videos are so surreal, there's definitely something wrong with the Gen Z kids", and then I looked it up and it's literally identical to the shitty animutations I was watching on Flash portals in 2001.

last week i remembered that macOS lets you set your own icons and that *I* have the power to delegitimize the professionalism of the software that runs on my machine, so here's a thread of the 16 new icons i've made so far

i really forgot how fun it was to just sit down and make art for myself :')

The subcategorization/tropefication of popular fiction has been very bad in general, both for authors and readers.
The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

Now that most Black Friday shopping is done online, stores should add fighting games to their websites where you have to defeat other real-life shoppers to add a sale item to your cart.

this is, again, a case of someone who has not done any kind of real work in decades (maybe ever, she has a degree in political science and has been doing HR her entire career) who think the bullshit they sleepwalk through every day is work and don't understand why real human beings get tired by it

i take frenzy damage every time i see someone go "well i just use it for the boring stuff". what are you TALKING about? if it's boring or unimportant, why are you putting it in? NPC dialogue is fertile ground for worldbuilding, creating verisimilitude, conveying important information, and hijinks!!
Buy a solo indie dev's game because I want to support them.

Find out it uses OpenAI to write "non-important NPC dialogue".

You go to Disney World and see someone dressed up as Mickey Mouse and you're like "ok, a guy in a Mickey Mouse costume." You see someone puppeteering Kermit and you're like "holy shit. It's him. It's Kermit the Frog."
