I’m old enough and naive enough to still think of a browser as a user agent; something that acts for, represents and proxies me, the user, and should be on *my* side not everyone else’s. I’ve spent a lot of time shouting at browser teams to give users off switches for things like auto play video.
Everyone who works on a browser (particularly folks who don't work on the web platform) should ask themselves every day "am I making the web a more sustainable place for users and publishers?"
