bsky is dunking on this, because of course we are, but like, no, these are *actually the questions we have to answer* if we want to transition the US to public healthcare, and we have to answer them *right*, and I think it's important to do so, because I want that to happen
How much are you going to pay doctors?

Which current hospitals get shut down ?

What happens if doctors opt out of the system ? Who is going to invest in new curative therapies. You ?

How much in taxes pr year do you think it's possible to collect if you took every penny from billionaires?
Half the amount that everyone currently pays could provide universal healthcare. Private health companies don’t need to exist. Eliminate them. And use your collective buying power and economies of scale to get it done. Every cent of their profit is healthcare denied.

Folks, the economic indicators don't matter, people need to get it through their heads that it's always been about *propaganda*, that's why Biden, despite passing multiple generational pieces of legislation, was panned, and why Trump, despite being a bumbling idiot with mush brain, was praised.

I want to read this article. Two (meant constructively) things:

1) "demonstrating that LLMs are worthless for indexing" should, like most of these things, have qualifiers like "in our hands and with our LLM"
2) when people talk like this about accuracy, I suspect the workflow as much as the model.
There’s an excellent and devastatingly thorough article in the latest @indexers.bsky.social journal by Elizabeth Bartmess and Michele Combs demonstrating that LLMs are worthless for indexing

98.5% of Dems voted against it and 98.5% of Rs voted for it. This headline fucking sucks.

Lots of posts like this in the last few days, and almost all of them swarmed by dozens or hundreds of repliers who are searingly angry at being told American material life is not, in fact, worse than it was decades ago. What I’m saying is, WHAT IF THAT DYNAMIC IS WHY EVERYONE BELIEVES IT’S SO BAD?
Americans in their 20s and 30s may not feel that they’re richer than their equivalents 60 years ago, but they’re objectively wrong.

It’s fascinating how important it is to some people not to say “I’m struggling, it’s hard” or “I need help”—objectively true—but to instead insist they have it worse.

The second paragraph of this justification for not voting for Harris is functionally indistinct from "I wouldn't want to get a beer with her." Even worse, it's based on nothing but parasocial psychologizing. This person either didn't agree Trump was very bad, or she thought being arrogant was worse.

The best reason to stop panicking about our imminent doom from corporations sacrificing our limited resources to Moloch is that it's not true. A close second is that we really need immigration culturally, economically, and morally and are not willing to take in mass immigration while panicking.
Once again tapping the sign that says "the only reason the US doesn't have a looming workforce catastrophe like Brazil and Vietnam is because of immigration".

I am so excited for leftists to overlook Bernie's love of Trump's immigration and border policies so that they can focus on... *checks notes*...hamstringing US technology, based on....*double checks notes*...internet memes.

Absolutely incredible work, Bernard.
I will be pushing for a moratorium on the construction of data centers that are powering the unregulated sprint to develop & deploy AI.

The moratorium will give democracy a chance to catch up, and ensure that the benefits of technology work for all of us, not just the 1%.

You are entitled to whatever opinion you want to have about Jeffries and Schumer, but if you think they have fucked up the ACA subsidy fight you’re just wrong and/or don’t know as much as you think about American politics
The House vote will presumably happen in early January, *AFTER* ~24M Americans receive their first 2026 premium bills.

It will presumably pass the House narrowly.

I don't know if the Senate would be required to re-vote on it or not, but it will almost certainly only get 51 votes again there.

The media decided the debates were the *only* important aspect of the election when Biden was at the helm, then, once Harris swapped out and wiped the floor with Trump, they actively ignored it.

The media won Trump the election. We do not hate them enough.
yeah I refuse to rewrite this history. harris ran a _very_ tight campaign with a few (not zero!) missteps. trump was a total shitshow. the closing argument was literally a dead squirrel.

the media made it clear that debates are the most important thing ever. she disemboweled him. they didn't care.
I'm sorry, why are we retroactively acting like his campaign was particularly good in 2024? It was a shit show, it just didn't matter.

I don't think treating this as the ramblings of a dementia patient is helpful. By the time he posted this, everyone knew the Reiners were murdered. Trump is claiming Reiner's "TDS" drove one of his (Trump's) supporters to murder them. He's trying to claim credit for inspiring murder.
this is one of the most psychotic things Trump has ever posted
