Fred Rogers does seem to have been a genuinely decent human being and also he would probably be the first to tell you not to idolize him, but to find in yourself what is beautiful and special and hold that up to the light so that you can see it clearly, and can everyone else.
Is it okay if I still idolize Mister Rogers?

Fred Rogers does seem to have been a genuinely decent human being and also he would probably be the first to tell you not to idolize him, but to find in yourself what is beautiful and special and hold that up to the light so that you can see it clearly, and can everyone else.

All these red states are now boasting about how they are withdrawing from the American Library Association. They aren’t just satisfied with banning books, they want to get rid of the places that keep and lend them, too. The Christian Right is on the march.

This is why I perhaps go a bit overboard the other way in loudly defending and supporting trans people online. Makes me feel weird as a cis man to keep banging on about the subject, but there's a moral imperative towards vigorous defence
Trans people are mentioned on Fox News daily and MSNBC monthly. The majority of trans stories shared on social media come from right-wing accounts. As Sartre once wrote of the Jews in the 1930s, we are "vigorously attacked and feebly defended"
