I know this is not a unique observation but public health was basically created to deal with the Spanish flu, and then a century later COVID hit and killed twice as many people and our response was to destroy public health

They recovered over 180 bullet shells at the CDC. Debris from shattered glass is still being cleaned up. I am completely stunned at how quickly the news cycle has moved on. This was an act of terrorism targeting public health experts, and the response seems to be a collective shrug.

I hope that the birdsong is forever louder than a crowd for Trump’s Tanks

I hope this very much
Nope! More large vehicles to fuck up the roads

Notice how the birdsong is louder than the crowd

60% of Americans have a chronic condition. Among people over 65, it's 95%.

Saying most of our health care spending goes to chronic conditions is just another way of saying it goes to health care.
Dr Oz says being healthy is a patriotic duty

Worse, he says they spend 70% of Medicare & Medicaid funds on chronic illness & aren’t “getting their money’s worth”

This is the quiet part said out loud.

They don’t want to cure chronic illness, they want us to take the blame. They don’t want to pay.

RFK Jr: Chronic diseases have increased by 20x since 1960.

Chronic disease researchers: That is false.

RFK Jr.: Hear me out. If we get people not to vaccinate, they will die of infectious disease instead, and that will reduce the proportion of chronic disease deaths and I’ll be proven right.

Hell yes!! Every piece of good news right now is even sweeter!!
This took years, initiating hard convos, building coalitions, & lots of #spoons, but for #ChronicPain patients, it made a big difference. As a patient/medical advocate, I spend much of my #spoonielife trying to ensure #Disability folks have treatments they need. #DisabilityRightsAreHumanRights. 💜💙🫂

I hope it makes a difference for some of our #ChronicPain pts. I've heard from other ppl who said it's helped them, & that makes it worth it. #DisabilityJustice Thank you, @jbpritzker.bsky.social for signing a bill I initiated & spent 4 years on into law! #ChronicIllness 💟

Never had thicker ads for tax prep services than this year. The companies know what's up. Nobody's paying.

Diversity is the single universal indicator of the health and resilience of a given thing. Increased diversity makes systems stronger.

Protest in as many ways as you can. Be unavoidable.
We need to cultivate a protest ecosystem, not a protest monoculture. There are so many niches to be filled in order to create a healthy and growing opposition.

Real question, are we still trying to force democrats to do this? They seem to not want it.
anyways if you want one single takeaway from sarah's international observations on protest: a functional opposition party is the best fucking tactic among the diversity of tactics I've seen so far

Pam Bondi says DOJ attorneys will be fired if they are not "zealous advocates" of the US.
Does she knows what zealot means?

The language is so telling. Are we still considering this snitching on herself, or have we finally come around to the fact that this is openly authoritarian horseshit 💩🪰
