I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

I probably sound like a broken record, but I cannot wait for this AI bubble to burst, I want to see the architects of this tech to be taken for every penny by those whose artwork they stole for training data, and I want those tools to cease function and be confined to the same memory hole as NFTs.
I know digital technology is amazing and wonderful (I say on my smart phone) but I really really wish we still had more analog stuff. It's neat and fun and I sometimes wanna get my hands dirty with it, instead of staring at a screen about it...
nobody talking about sacred machines is talking about telephony equipment and they ought to be, like all of this metal was directly connecting your ear to someone's gaping maw and into literal orbit and back while simultaneously handling hundreds more. and it sounds like this it's like a critter
