My mind struggled with the fact that Colm Meaney is 72 years old.

He played Chief Miles O'Brien on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

And was recognized as "The Most Important Person in Starfleet History" according to Star Trek: Lower Decks.

The Mona Lisa of the Louvre of Bluesky.
The last 2.5 years of Bluesky were a steady build up to "criticism of Jeffrey Epstein's writing ability is ableist." Congrats everyone, we did it.

TYPEWRITTEN.
TYPEWRITTEN PAINTING.
Holy shit, just learned about the typewriter art of Montserrat Alberich Escardívol, a Catalan typist. Using an extra wide typewriter and 180 color ribbons, she built up elaborate images from simple characters like 'm' and '.' and ';'. Here is her typewritten painting of the Cathedral of Barcelona.

What if instead of Cyber Monday (aka Daddy Bezos Day), we did a Support Indie Media Monday?

What are your favorite indie publications? Who are some of your favorite freelance and indie reporters and commentators?

Can we make this a thing?

This is what I taught myself how to do a few months after I got an iPhone and it fell out of my girly-pockets one too many times.

You will need:
1: a washable yarn, decently sturdy.
2: a crochet hook suitable to the chosen yarn.
3: ideally, beads or a button. Or make the cover-flap really long.
2-pocket phone pouch.

Crochet a rectangle slightly longer than the phone and somewhat wider than 3x the width. Do not bind off, but fold into thirds. Using the same yarn, crochet ends together, going down one end, across the bottom, up the top. Do not bind in your yarn yet!

Friendly reminder that dishwashers made after 1995 or so are so water and energy efficient that even if you ran them twice fully loaded it would still use less water than handwashing the same load.

So many "green" things feel like sacrifices. Dishwashers are not one of them.

IQ is a eugenicist concept. Larry Summers is eugenicist. That's why I'm not at all surprised he was also pals with eugenicist child trafficker Epstein. If you think men are superior to women, then it's a short skip to "women and girls exist only for men's pleasure"
One of my earliest moments of radicalization was in 2005 when Larry Summers said that women biologically have less aptitude for science than men. Following that, scores of equally unimpressive people wrote pieces trying to explain or justify his remarks, when they should have called for his removal.

You might have imagined the menswear guy to be heavily into kerning (style, detail, history…), but not, it appears. Or rather, he is now. Expect posts on tailor’s shop signs, labels etc…
huh, that's interesting. once you see the comparison, it becomes very obvious why one is better. would not have noticed it before
The font would appear to be English 111 Adagio CE, available for the highly presidential sum of just $39.75 USD

Note "The" is not kerned correctly

(see perspective-corrected still for reference)
