Those claiming that this woman being driven out of comics is a victory are delusional. She is going to go right back to the horror genre where she is quite comfortable and successful. Comics will continue to grow more homogenous and out of touch. And manga will still sell by the tons.

I get q's whenever I visit my old hometown in Alabama. "You live in *Brooklyn*? Are you safe?" The violent crime rate in Mobile is usually 3x higher. I turn the question back on the asker and get blank looks. Fear of cities is just media/politician-induced delusion and bigotry, nothing rational.
We need to build some real social stigma around being afraid of cities. You don't have to like them or live there, but a politics built this strongly around watching TV and going "ewww" is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed by it. It's like "fear of werewolves" being your top issue.
