Once again a reminder: We can have trans rights, bodily autonomy, gender nonconformity, and freedom of expression, or we can have none of these things.

There’s no third option.
In addition to this administration trying to kill kids, and they're also coming for our binders? OUR BINDERS.

this dumb shit is what i mean when i say this is a purely aesthetic “politics.” yeah man, why can’t we have a fusion of cosmopolitan social democracy and revanchist hierarchies of wealth and privilege? tough question.
Matt Stoller: “..Trump & Mamdani defeated establishment in their own way, representing hunger of voters on the right & left who want something different. If those sides cd come together.. that would be a sea change in how we organize our political economy”.

Monopoly Round-Up: Why the Establishment Freaked Out Over a Mamdani-Trump Press Conference
Meta wins its antitrust case, there are now two fire truck antitrust claims, the stock market got wobbly, and Larry Summers was exiled from the establishment, at least for now.

Even those who didn't rely on them will feel the pain as insurance premiums are going to jump for almost everyone.

The only question is whether Americans will learn from this or not. Whiteness is not a force field that protects you from harm, and white folks ain't equipped to handle what's coming.

A lot of people who claim to be mad today had a golden opportunity to avoid this fate after year ago. It's never been a matter of if all of this would happen. The only question was how quickly would it happen.

I hurt for those who relied on ACA subsidies for coverage.

I need those ACA subsidies.

My neighbors need food.

I’m not going to fault the only party that wants us to have both for only being able to secure the food.

Be mad at Republicans.
Be mad at your maga family.

Use the rest of your energy to give Democrats a majority.

So much lying. First, there *is* a legal mechanism for tapping contingency funds.

Second, most important, Johnson cites times when Trump ILLEGALLY moved money around, especially to pay military. Trump won't break the law for hungry people, though.

Why?
Q: In the last Trump shutdown, he made sure SNAP benefits went out. Why do you think he shouldn't do that this time?

MIKE JOHNSON: The president has done exactly what he did in the first term, and that is bend over backward to make sure we mitigate the harm. The money doesn't exist to do it.

I'm so sick of discourse from supposed allies about where trans people went wrong.

Where we "went wrong" is that billionaires spent unimaginably large sums to attack us repeatedly and major media outlets have spent a decade piling on.

The thing that people want from Democrats is for them to have won in November or failing that say something that will make them feel better about the current situation and everything sucks so it's not going to happen.
People on this website: Democrats only do words and they need to do more than words!

Also people on this website, sometimes in the same post: What Democrats *really* need to do is better words!

Investing in Confederate monuments. Banning library books. Renaming bases and ships.

For all of Pete Hegseth’s posturing about a “warrior ethos” and being “laser-focused” on winning wars, he sure does seem fixated on fighting the culture wars. www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddo...

The secretary might claim to be “laser-focused” on fighting wars, but his record suggests he’s far more interested in fighting the culture wars.
