Western Massachusetts friends, there is a cluster of pertussis cases in the Northampton school. If you have been thinking you need a booster (many of us in our 50s do), now is the time. You don’t need to be tested to see if immunity has waned—you can just get one at CVS, etc.

This interpretation means that to call the Guard into active federal service under § 12406(3), the President must be "unable" with the regular military "to execute the laws of the United States." Because the statute requires an assessment of the military's ability to execute the laws, it likely applies only where the military could legally execute the laws. Such circumstances are exceptional: Under the Posse Comitatus Act, the military is prohibited from "execut[ing] the laws" "except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress.

Bobby Nunez was arrested and prosecuted for "brazenly towing an ICE vehicle" according to the U.S. Attorney. He towed the vehicle during the arrest of a TikTok influencer in downtown Los Angeles on August 15th.
After a 4-day trial, he was acquitted! His lawyers were two Deputy Public Defenders. ✊🏼
