Bingo. And then the only info that the layperson sees is crank nonsense. The marketplace of ideas fails because the only available wares are utter crap.
It's a weird situation where licensed professionals are terrified of being sued if they give advice publicly and total charlatans and scammers give loud and confident advice and are apparently immunized. Guess what that does combined with the incentives of social media? bsky.app/profile/illi...
Plus legal advice, plus financial advice, etc etc. it’s too easy to get crank messages out there and the common denominator is the social media company itself.
