American Prospect is so unserious. Article doesn’t name one thing Dems could do to stop any of this. Closest they get is bitching that Jeffries won’t support a bipartisan bill on stock trading that wouldn’t get through the Senate & would give Repubs a free vote to say they’re tough on corruption
From border czar Tom Homan taking cash in a paper bag to the Trump family’s $5 billion in crypto profits, this is the most corrupt administration in U.S. history. Democratic leadership is squandering their chance to stop it. From @dylangyauchl.bsky.social: trib.al/7KlBr43
House Democrats Squander the Opportunity of Trumpian Corruption - The American Prospect

I just yelled "OH SHIT" in the vet.
People can see me laughing at all the people who refused to vote for Kamala Harris getting their wages seized.

*sorry to the rest of y'all, but don't blame me, blame the people who didn't vote for Kamala Harris.

So, Jessica Pishko lied about Democrats not protecting trans kids bc 1% of House Dems voted wrong, just like on the trans athlete bill, which all 47 Senate Dems killed via filibuster. When called on it she wouldn’t admit she was wrong, but made bad faith claims, ended up on “genocide,” & blocked me

The comments on this video on TikTok are so interesting to me because it is a lot of people saying that we can’t do this because what if Republicans try it to or what if Republicans reverse it. “We have to change the court the traditional way.”

Democrats didn't vote against trans kids. WTF are you even saying right now? JFC.

I want to talk about the awful anti-trans vote in the House last week. Cause I see a glass half full POV, that actually makes me really excited and gives me a lot of hope.

If you have no idea what I’m talking about, here’s the short version.

Good lord. Are you serious right now?

A tiny, tiny, TINY minority of Dems may do so. If you vote enough Dems into power, they won't matter. Why are you so fixated on the 1% of Dems, instead of the 95% of Republicans on this issue? ONE SIDE IS CLEARLY SUPERIOR ACROSS THE BOARD. This isn't difficult.

There's a new Tomeka Reid Quartet (w/Mary Halvorson, Jason Roebke & Tomas Fujiwara) album coming in February, and the first "single" RULES. I swear, Halvorson's guitar sounds like a clavinet on this.

I wanted to share probably the most important sermon I’ve given and it’s while I’m being arrested. It’s torture pure and simple what happens at #Broadview. I’m ok, though I was thrown to the ground and choked with my pectoral cross. A review of the video shows I was peaceful - did I deserve this?

It's a surreal--and troubling--read.

I mostly like Kruse, genuinely, and I don’t believe he was doing this consciously. And maybe there is some of this that was him genuinely being swayed by the messaging! But man, at least realize it’s happening and account for the change.
Weird how at some point the ACA subsidies went from meaningless technocrat babble that it was obviously incredibly stupid for Democrats to try protecting to being incredibly important for helping people avoid suffering.

And Democrats managed to get it wrong both times!! What were the odds?

Y'all do realize that even if Dems retake the House and the Senate *and* end the filibuster, they still won't have veto-proof majorities, right?

And Trump will absolutely veto anything they pass.

He probably would have also vetoed ACA extensions even if Republicans caved.

Y'all know that, right?

instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."

Y’all decided that the Supreme Court didn’t matter in 2016.

Y’all decided that your integrity mattered more than stopping white nationalists from taking complete control of the government in 2024.

So what do I look like giving a chicken fried fuck about y’all hollering about Dems “caving”?
