This could all be solved by redesigning roads to make driving slower and more stressful, combined with a tax on vehicle weight.

Funnily enough, applies to most of his academic career too.
I have read the goddamn facts. Fuck Chomsky.

I love my adopted homeland for many things, but some are making me feel like a 1890s Western anthropologist in New Guinea.
There is no earthly reason why this abomination should have ever been conceived, let alone developed and marketed. And even less rational justification for it being so unfathomably delicious or utterly addictive.

It is crack in a bottle and must be regulated, before the whole country is lost to it.

A left wing politics that is oriented around your rights and identity as an individual consumer instead of your responsibilities as a member of a social or political community is basically a left aesthetic pasted onto an internalized neoliberal ontology.

This is going to be such an epic shitshow.
It’s not enough to rebuild someone else’s broken government. We need to innovate.

This partnership will speed up our efforts to fight poverty, help renters become homeowners, and make sure Marylanders can quickly get basic services like food assistance and financial support.

I'm thinking of all the nasty stuff in Chomsky's record.

Denying the Cambodian genocide. Supporting Milosevic. Denying the Bosnian genocide. Undermining anti-Communist dissidents in Western academia. Cheering the death of Venezuelan democracy. Spreading Russian propaganda.

This is long overdue.
Can't wait to see him whatabout this one.

One of the craziest things that has become apparent to me as I’ve gotten older is people are just putting “hello yes would you like to do crimes? Here is my plan to do crimes, let us join together to do the crimes at this specific time and place” in emails

1/9 Europe isn’t ready for war.

Bohdan Krotevych warns the continent is playing at war instead of preparing for it.

Billions are spent on buzzwords like “AI” and the “drone revolution,” feeding an illusion of control.

Real war demands structure, discipline, and trained people

Another one to the "everyone is 12 now" theory.
JD Vance: "I don't know if you saw this media circulating on social media, but the president met the president of Syria, al-Sharaa, in the Oval Office a couple of days ago, and he asked him, 'How many wives do you have?' Heh heh heh heh heh! Haaaaaa! Amazing comedic timing."

The biggest problem with that concept is that no one can suspend disbelief enough to think UK has 15,000 of anything, let alone competent spies.
the UK spy agency has 15,000 Bonds but the one the story follows is simply the guy who gets lucky over and over again, setting him up for his most ridiculously dangerous mission yet, which no one except a guy on a massive heater would take
Idea: a Bond movie inspired by Groundhog Day where there’s like eight different Bonds in training who all die in different super spy ways during their first month on the job

Quite incredible that the US has half of the political spectrum composed entirely of people who spend their lives shoved in a locker.
One appeaser, Sen. Angus King, explained his decision with, “Standing up to Donald Trump didn’t work.”

Well sure, when you prematurely fold rather than see a fight through, you fail. And why should Trump opponents vote for anyone who thinks standing up to Trump isn’t worth doing?
Democrats Have to Get Out of a Normal Democracy Mindset
By folding in the government shutdown in exchange for virtually nothing, eight Democratic senators aid Trump's authoritarian takeover rather than oppose it

The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.

Abolish the Home Office.
interview done. she was asked a lot of stupid questions, but the best part was where they kept going back and asking what miniboyd's school is and who the teachers are (3 times across half an hour), just in case she happened to accidentally reveal no such child exists or we just stole a random one

If the UK had a sentient being for a DCMS secretary (or for a PM at least), UKG would be suing/blocking twitter into oblivion at this point. But we are where we are.
mainly boggling at the idea that any British media organisation has $1billion to be sued for (did Elon not tell him that we are but a simple land of hobbits, going about our hobbit business in the shires?)
