I can't speak to whether it is actually bortac and whether it is actually mortar launchers but I mentioned in my piece yesterday that I had witnessed tear gas being launched in the air in an arc over people's heads. This video I found on IG shows what I described

BESSENT: No sir

GREEN: Why?

BESSENT: All Americans benefited from the rebound in the market that day

I think the point is that people were hanging around a guy long after his abuse of children and trafficking of victims was known. The wealthy and powerful operate under a different set of rules.

Hey, you know what would be good today? A gigantic fuck-off wealth tax.

The type of tax that would stop bald-ass bitches buying newspapers and destroying them or prevent people buying islands and dedicating them to child abuse. Anyone?

Jeff Bezos had $75 million to bribe Trump for the Melania movie but cut 16,000 jobs at Amazon and is cutting more at the Washington Post today.

And somehow people *dont* want to campaign on the issue of evil billionaires.

Bezos, Musk, Thiel, Zuckerberg, Ellison and a few others are like straight out of comic book villainy. These people make Lex Luthor and Dr Doom look sane. We should be talking about them the way they demonize immigrants, women and the poor. Be bigoted towards evil billionaires.

Bezos isn't destroying the Washington Post because it isn't profitable. He's destroying the Washington Post because he's calculated that a robust free press threatens the ability of his class to warp society around their interests

so crazy to me that a woman asked trump if he has any words for epstein's victims and he said "you as a young woman should smile more." it will go nowhere bc republicans refuse to hold trump accountable, but it's still pretty crazy.

Someone ask Johnson why, if Democrats had the power to sneak phony ballots into elections in different districts, they didn't do it in enough districts to get a House majority.
Mike Johnson on Trump calling for Rs to "nationalize" elections: "We had 3 Republicans who were ahead on election day in last cycle & every time a new tranche of ballots came in they just magically whittled away until their leads were lost. It looks on its face to be fraudulent. Can I prove it? No"

"We were ahead until all the votes were counted, then we lost." Yeah man, sometimes elections work like that. It's why baseball games don't just end when your team is up in the 8th inning. Losing in the 9th doesn't mean you were cheated, it means your team stinks.

Taking the "inclusivity" line at face value, the right lost its mind and threw a big tantrum. But truly, it wasn't *really* about inclusivity.

It was about membership numbers and money. Scouts filed for bankruptcy in 2020 because of all the sexual abuse lawsuits they had to settle.

A non-lawyer might miss that Johnson carefully dodged the question.

The question was about HOMES. He just spoke about ARRESTS.

Those are two VERY different things for warrants.

ICE is trying to undermine that distinction, which motivated the question, but Johnson bounced around it.
Q: You're a constitutional lawyer. Can you detail the 4th Amendment protections someone has if ICE approaches their home w/an administrative warrant?

MIKE JOHNSON: When ICE goes to execute a warrant, it's issued by an immigration judge, & that is a sufficient legal authority to go apprehend someone

Agent: *Hand* guns, like threatening to shoot us.

Reporter: You mean like with hand symbols?

A: Pulling them out, trying to engage us.

R: Pulling out literal guns?

A: No. Making... assuming we were going to do something.

If the Supreme Court’s argument is that the president has total immunity in doing stuff like this, then the next president has total immunity in claiming it is their presidential prerogative to hold Donald Trump upside down by his ankles and shake him until $600 million falls out.

Yes, it’s a combination of wishful thinking and stating the obvious, but this isn’t going to stop until a significant number of people, including Democratic presidential candidates, start openly saying they are just going to seize his assets to pay to fix this, and then do it.
