2025 had an obvious conservative tilt and I need you weirdos to work double time next year. I need you to hike up your thrifted levis and look me in the eye and promise me you’re gonna get weirder this year to scare the squares. We can’t let them get comfortable.

I’m sure the “protect our women and girls” brigade will have plenty to say about this👍🏼

There are indeed some parts of our society that don’t treat women properly…

Here is a former TORY Councillor (and 5 OTHER men) charged with the rape and sexual assault of HIS WIFE

Found the actual men in women's bathrooms assaulting women.
ICE agents illegally break into a woman's bathroom in a NY nutrition bar manufacturing plant. "Pull up your pants," says a male agent. The agents only had a warrant to review employer documents. They didn't have a warrant to search for, detain, or arrest anyone there.

The actor Michael Sheen used all his money to start a fake debt collecting business, buy 900 people in Wales's debt, and excused it. If Musk bought ALL $194 billion in medical debt in the U.S. and excused it in the same way, he'd still be the world's riches man by hundreds of billions of dollars.

Bari Weiss is the logical endpoint of corporate media. This is what happens when people who hate journalism are in charge of it. The only way journalism works is when it’s independent from the power it’s supposed to hold to account, which means ownership can’t have anything to do with those in power

I'm really not sure where the next few years will take us. High immigration salience, large sections of our political class obsessed and increasingly reliant on racist and nationalist talking points - all against a reality of depopulation right when we can ill-afford it.
The UK will celebrate net emigration and depopulation come 2027.

And by 2028 it will start to realise, with an ageing society and low growth, what a really silly thing it has done.

The right will go "pro-natalist", the centre-left will be completely stuck.

Finally, if you can get through the paywall this piece from earlier in the week illuminates how the experience above is just a tiny part of an industrial-scale, global, and sector-wide catastrophe of AI and citations to nonexistent papers in academic publishing bsky.app/profile/mile...
Academics and technologists are sounding the alarm about a growing crisis in scholarship as we know it: AI-generated citations of nonexistent papers that have infested real journals. Despite being fake, the sources are widely assumed to be authentic the more they appear in published literature.
AI Is Inventing Academic Papers That Don't Exist -- And They're Being Cited in Real Journals
Academic articles from authors using large language model are creating an ecosystem of fake research that threatens human knowledge itself.

We have journalists, MPs and other elected officials regularly arguing that anyone with immigrant ancestry can't ever be British/English. That they should never be allowed to hold political office.

This is a marked escalation and the government is silent, even as it includes the PM's wife!

How much is it costing the criminal justice system to arrest and prosecute all these people for the crime of wearing a t-shirt or holding a placard?
