Minneapolis is consistently rated one of the best places to live, we largely avoided the pandemic bump in rents, and 95% of our residents live within a 10 minute walk of a park.

oooooh so scary.
wild to be running for president, and you're dropping in on various parts of the country you want to lead and announcing “this part sucks shit”

Can we talk for a second about how everything from Calvin & Hobbes profile pics to window decals involve people being weird sociopaths when that comic was all about the joy of life and connection?

Pecans also taste way better, eat more pecans
Nuts are an major part of Thanksgiving. The climate crisis has to be addressed at the global level, but consumer choice plays a role. One thing we can do is switch from almonds (R in photo) to pecans (L). Both are similar in nutrition, but it is water use and geography that makes a difference. 🌍 1/4

So here’s one of my things about AI. Right now, content that can be generated by AI—things like art, stock photos, listicles, articles—is not actually particularly expensive.

In 2009, Avenue Q went on tour posing the harsh question "What do you do with a BA in English?" to America.
A lot of handwringing about the decline of the humanities. As @xphilosopher.bsky.social has shown, the reason we are suffering academically is lack of interest by students. Xphilosopher posted this picture and it's crystal clear: interest cratered since 2010.

Yeah man our failure to do this after Appomattox led to 90 years of a one-party apartheid terror state that we barely dismantled while my parents were kids so I’m fine with making up for lost time

This was taken less than 2 miles from North Minneapolis. I got here on a bicycle, passing many families out with their children. MSP has its flaws, but we really knock it out of the park when it comes to urban parks.

Vivek Ramaswamy is the only candidate for Presidential office bold enough to propose securing the US Canadian border. My family was terrified to camp on this idyllic paradise knowing a Canadian could just canoe over at any time. We certainly made sure to not cross the obvious border.

Getting alerts for Fantasy Football as a person who doesn't enjoy football is weird. The app will say "XYZ player is doing well!" and I'll click through to see how many points they've scored for me, and instead it will list two cities with random numbers next to their names.
