Compared to other NYTimes articles about hormones this is obviously suss, but I think a wider conversation about hormone therapy in our culture would greatly benefit our trans community
Earlier this year, we published an article on how women are increasingly seeking out testosterone to help with energy or their sex lives. We followed up with one woman who went on testosterone to help with her menopausal symptoms. The effects had unexpected consequences for her marriage.
What It’s Like When Your Wife Goes on Testosterone

Finally made time to watch Sinners last night and wow, what a picture. Really regret not seeing it in the theater. The scene where the music connects past & future Black tradition with the camera weaving & swirling throughout the space was enthralling, one of the best scenes I've ever seen

As a resident of CT, which pays much more to the federal govt than it receives, I think it would be an interesting experiment to see what we could do if we kept all the federal taxes we pay here in the state rather than sending it to these corrupt, pedo-defending goons
Sean Duffy on blue states: "What I can do is I can pull their money. That's the leverage I do have ... I guarantee you that the federal taxpayer is not going to fund their roads and bridges and their systems when they are putting illegals on the roads."

I highly recommend watching this segment, not just because the CBS News execs and the White House didn’t want you to, but because these men were tortured and they deserved to have their voices heard.
!! Here’s a link to full video of the 60 Minutes segment that Bari Weiss killed last minute, via @jasonparis.bsky.social:

bari weiss saw this and decided that she had to hide it from the american public
Guards began beating him. Beat him until he bled. Knocked his face into the wall, broke all his teeth. No access to outdoors, no contact with relatives.

Now describing US knowledge of CECOT's torture practices, followed by footage of Trump praising those practices.

Americans having to bootleg broadcast news about our government’s offshored concentration camp is a level of fascism that immediately precedes democratic societies dropping leaflets on us from weather balloons.
And now someone has uploaded a version that wasn't filmed off a TV.

There's also the torrent link there, which is probably the fastest way to download the 60 Minutes segment on CECOT if you want to save the file locally to your computer.

Once again a reminder: We can have trans rights, bodily autonomy, gender nonconformity, and freedom of expression, or we can have none of these things.

There’s no third option.

Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

Never good to see the town next to the one I grew up in mentioned in a story like this. Down with racists everywhere, no matter the economic class
“Those of us on the left should be fighting to improve protections for workers of all races, and thereby for the betterment of people’s material conditions regardless of their views,” Arash Azizi argues:
Why the Cinnabon Story Doesn’t Make Me Happy
The left should be promoting working-class solidarity, not delighting in seeing workers summarily dismissed.
