The don't eat Doritos but drink formaldehyde messaging coming out of the US is confusing
The Trump administration is proposing to almost double what’s considered safe exposure levels to formaldehyde, a cancer-causing chemical found in many consumer products, as part of a broader overhaul of its approach to regulating carcinogens.
Starting With Formaldehyde, Trump Administration Reassesses Chemical Risks
A draft memo from the E.P.A. assumes a safe threshold exists for formaldehyde, upending earlier findings that there is no safe level of exposure to the carcinogen.

Wow, RIP and I wish I knew of NYU film prof Christine Choy's work before.

Adding Vincent Chang doc to my watch list with 2022's "The Exiles". It's on Kanopy.

"Choy tracks down three exiled dissidents from the Tiananmen Square massacre for closure on a film she began shooting in 1989."

Someone else said it but it bears repeating:

"The Muppet Christmas Carol" is the best movie ever because Michael Caine treats the Muppets as fellow, human actors.

"Muppet Treasure Island" is the best movie ever because Tim Curry treats himself as a Muppet.

Couple of things here:

1. Trump says he took another cognitive test recently

2. In front of "large numbers of doctors and experts"

3. He called the examinations "long...and very boring"

4. If you're given 3 cognitive exams in one year by panels of doctors, something is VERY wrong with you

The President is bragging again about passing a basic cognitive exam they give to determine if your brain still works.
Every part of this is bonkers. The intro is bonkers. The transition to his health is bonkers. The mention that other presidents didn't need cognitive exams is bonkers. The claim that this screening test is somehow hard is bonkers. The idea that criticism of him is treason is bonkers. All of it.

This is huge. Even in Florida, voters are rejecting what Donald Trump is trying to do to this country.
CONFIRMED: Eileen Higgins, a Democrat, will be the new mayor of Miami.

She'll be the city's first Democratic mayor since the 1990s. She flipped the office from Republicans, and does so easily. She leads the DeSantis-endorsed Emilio González 59/41 right now with most ballots counted.
