I've said before that any attempt by regulate predatory gambling apps is gonna result in endless shrieking about how you're depriving these poor young men of their only opportunity to get ahead in life by not letting them feed their life savings to a virtual plinko machine

“prominent figure in the football casual scene during the 1980s

“recognised for his robust political activism and outspoken criticism of the current government,"

Yeah, I’m getting the picture here.

It’s deeply irresponsible for a publication to give Linehan space to basically ruin his life and personal connections like this. He’d do it without their platform of course, but there’s something unedifying about hitting publish on something as self-destructive as this.
Graham Linehan has such little self-awareness he *really* doesn’t understand how totally unhinged he seems in his ‘woe is me’ batshit crazy ranting! 😬

He’s the ‘cautionary tale’ of what obsessive ‘gender critical’ transphobia leads to: no friends, no life, and spaghetti carbonara for one!

Signs Trump is losing his grip:

- R’s passed CR that (for now) blocks Trump's RIFs
- R's just passed NDAA that denies Hegseth $$ until he releases boat strike video
- 20 R's just joined Dems to block Trump's Executive Order on fed labor rights
- Indiana Senate Rs kill redistricting in blowout vote

Great example of how gambling is tied to alpha male influencer 'stack dat paper, look at my lambo' bullshit is that time a women had the nerve to win a poker tournament and all the male gamblers went into an apoplectic fury about how she obviously must have cheated.

My favorite part of this is that “the Democrats abandoned Common Sense Kitchen Table Issues and betrayed us normal folk” was exactly how Nixon and Reagan pitched the Southern Strategy and now you primarily hear it from people cursing Reagan’s name
Why did the White Working Class turn on liberalism in the late century? Can’t be bigotry, just Money In Politics

Why did the Iraq War happen? Shadowy conspiracy by Them for profits

Why did Trump get elected twice? Well you just have to understand the economic anxiety of the left behind working man

It's scary how many people on here have no idea how electoral politics in US work. Even if M4A doesn't lead to a backlash that would make 2010 look like 2022, parties are not rewarded for legislations for decades lol, few years after Great Society Nixon won two terms, 2nd by a huge landslide.

This is full-on Great Replacement Theory, the white supremacist conspiracy that fueled the 2018 Tree of Life synagogue mass shooting and the 2022 Buffalo mass shooting and more.
“…And yet there are Republican lawmakers who eagerly facilitate the disinheritance of their own children.”

That right there is some dark, disturbing shit.

The internet is fast becoming so choked with this, it'll be unusable. We'll all be boats chugging blindly through the gloom and the muck, finding nothing, barely each other, uncertain what's true or even real anymore.
googled something and clicked a link to a website I'd never heard of that looked like a forum, read the discussion and realized the person asking a question and all of the answers were all LLM generated, the entire website was a fake forum pretending to be people asking/answering questions

The logical endpoint of class reductionism: solidarity demands that we support a racist “worker” and label anyone who takes offense at racial slurs as a decadent bourgeois.
“Those of us on the left should be fighting to improve protections for workers of all races, and thereby for the betterment of people’s material conditions regardless of their views,” Arash Azizi argues:
Why the Cinnabon Story Doesn’t Make Me Happy
The left should be promoting working-class solidarity, not delighting in seeing workers summarily dismissed.

Much of the STEM folks (including the science part) is quickly eroding my trust entirely because if they're not outright pushing the alleged good of LLMs (and my experience is that once interrogated, they do in fact like genAI), they're not condemning it or pushing that BS inevitability narrative.
