Perform empathy. Please. Perform the fuck out of it. It's so good to act with kindness. I hope it penetrates to a place where you feel it, too, but if you must act some way, act the right way. I'm not here to judge your authenticity, I just want you to be kind, thoughtful, and mortified by meanness.

Don’t normalize this shit. It’s an affront. The last thing we want is for something like this to be financially successful or make waves in any way. If the “test case” benefits those bankrolling it, where does this stop? Do we get a fake “original” cut of GREED next?

there's an episode of The Simpsons where Marge tries to get a violent cartoon pulled from the airwaves, only to discover that the people backing her aren't going to stop at just the art that *she* doesn't like, and that supporting artistic freedom means accepting discomfort.

It aired in 1990.

I love when I can see the work in a piece of art. Practical effects in film, brush strokes on canvas, strange sounds in music, "impossible" visuals in games. It puts me in conversation with the artist. That's why - ethics aside - art created with AI is just so disappointing. There's no work to see.

The U.S. isn’t even in the conversation.

It doesn’t have to be like this, folks.
Vienna has been dethroned. The new "world's most livable city" is [drum roll] Copenhagen, which was also, in a separate survey, recently ranked the world's happiest city.

US cities basically do everything exactly the opposite of Copenhagen, which is why not a single US city is in the top ten.
The world's most liveable cities for 2025 - and what it's really like to live there
Copenhagen has overtaken Vienna as the world's most liveable city in 2025. But what makes these places tick? Locals in five top-ranking cities share what life is really like there.
