The night after the murder of Melissa Hortman, the Democratic legislator in Minnesota, the Yankees were at the Red Sox and neither team requested a moment of silence.

For an actual public servant.

Who we choose to hold a moment of silence for and who we do not are silences that speak volumes.

I am sickened by this ruling. Trump’s Supreme Court has reopened the door to dangerous and racially motivated immigration raids in Southern California, leaving families to wonder if heading to work or taking their kids to school could end in detention because of the way they look or talk.

If I were a big Democratic super PAC, I'd be direct mailing a copy of the Trump/Epstein letter to every independent voter in every swing district in the country tomorrow.

No editorializing, no additional message. Just make America hold the thing in their hands and make their own decisions.

If this reporting is correct---2.5 million Israelis protesting--that represents more than a quarter (25%) of the population of the country. In protest. Incredible.

Israel is the size of New Jersey, both in land mass and population.
Over 2.5 million Israelis joined today’s anti-Netanyahu protests, organisers estimate. 300,000 are now in Tel Aviv's Hostage Square. (Haaretz)

Unfortunately, I have to agree here. Republicans are only concerned with whether they gain an advantage by pursuing a specific course of action.
"Newsom’s threat to retaliate in kind is not a divisive attack on good governance. It is, instead, the only hope for democracy. Bipartisanship right now is appeasement. Democrats cannot and should not hide behind neutrality and fairness as MAGA incinerates the remaining tatters of our republic."

As end-of-empire scenarios go it is so much more dignified to get your capital city sacked by the Visigoths than to have a bunch of illiterate rich people in their 70s doing it through a series of incomprehensible tantrums because their brains were defeated by their phones.

I think they’ve turned against vaccines for the same reason they’ve turned against weather forecasting & broadband access & childcare tax credits: it’s an area where government investment has an obvious benefit for the public and thus must be eliminated to reduce trust in government’s abilities.
