The LP.8.1.* variant remains dominant but appears to have peaked. It feel back to 38%.

The NB.1.8.1 "Nimbus" variant has grown to 16%.

To be clear, my point about the vaccination rates is that even in a highly vaxxed population, SARS-CoV-2 is still resulting in hospitalization/death from acute infection at significant rates, even with the added protection against those things that's conferred by the vaccine.

Same thing happened in Fall 2024, when the feds released a report on Long Covid that explicitly state that repeat infections are dangerous, the risk of developing LC is cumulative, and that 1 in 5 Canadians adults had Long Covid. Not a word from Canadian media.
