This is the one the more tolerable focus group pieces, and the point Laura highlights gets back to what I've said for years: The Democrats in charge of U.S. cities and states must make affordability and competency core components of their terms.

Don't worry: It also has voters with brainworms.

What a great use of passive voice. No indication that Trump is intentionally causing this crisis for no purpose or that this crisis didn’t exist three months ago. The media is a total failure.
The Social Security Administration is engulfed in crisis — further undermining its ability to provide reliable and quick service to vulnerable customers, according to internal documents and more than two dozen current and former agency employees and officials, customers and others.
Long waits, waves of calls, web crashes: Social Security is breaking down

This case should be a wake up call. Our client has been disappeared and locked up solely based on his tattoos. It is naive to think this kind of incarceration with no chance to refute the charges against you will be limited to asylum seekers. If this goes unchallenged, who could be next?

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.

They own what happens next.

Democratic leaders:

I think it's abundantly clear at this point that simply going along to get along ain't gonna work. Trying to negotiate ain't gonna work. Being collegial ain't gonna work. What you're doing right now isn't working.

Brooklyn Democratic Party is wildly corrupt and will back Adams to the hilt, and nobody wants to burn those bridges, plus there was a huge rightward swing in NYC last year, so everyone's terrified of looking too weak on immigration. Not good!
As the unofficial Dem strategy explainer on here I can't really tell you why Jeffries had such a wimpy response to the Eric Adams quid pro quo. At some point this just becomes a timid resistance to doing anything.

The Washington Post editorial this morning essentially equating Biden's questionable pardons with Trump's outrageous Jan. 6 pardons was unconscionable. The newspaper I've been part of for 48 years has utterly lost its soul.

Also this is the kind of mistake you make when you *truly* have no idea what at all you’re talking about. Every single mildly informed budget person on the hill R or D knows SNAP is discretionary not mandatory spending.
SNAP falls under the Department of Agriculture, and its funding is through what's generally referred to as the "Farm Bill," which is under a temporary extension that expires on December 20 unless Congress acts to further extend it, so, good luck cutting off people's food in time for Christmas guy.
