“In my profession, I have seen many people break down in grief, but that image of Elizabeth’s father will stay with me forever,” she said. “I watched him sit in his car, bury his head in his hands, and cry uncontrollably. Those are images you do not forget.”
Elizabeth is a Columbia Heights fourth-grader who loves volleyball, learning English and giggling in the halls with her friends. She's been held in the Dilley Immigration Processing Center for nearly a month, and she and her mom have both fallen ill. sahanjournal.com/education/co...

3d printers really needed this glow up. they can be great practical or creative tools but it's still the case that for every 1 actually useful publicly available print design you still see 300 jagoff spider-man masks or anime waifu figurines

A filter blockade doesn't take much! Over the last few days we have seen neighborhoods throughout Minneapolis adapting, learning, and building to protect their communities from ICE.

Here are some tips submitted by folks on the ground on setting up your own filter blockade!

explain to me, very slowly, like the dimwitted child you must think I am, how body cameras or ICE cooperating with cops would have prevented any of the many, many, many law enforcement murders committed by both ICE and cops over the years which were already thoroughly documented on video
Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE:

End the roving patrols and racial profiling.

Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police.

Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.

"...in the streets of Minneapolis there is a kind of organizing that has a place for us all, that subverts our understanding of how power is supposed to be used by regular people, and which shows that maybe we don’t need saviors, we need accomplices."
When anarchism isn't being villified as evil it's being dismissed with an eyeroll by people who think they know better. But in Minneapolis, we're seeing the power of this maligned philosophy.

Minneapolis Shows Us Anarchism at Work — Assigned
The trans community should look to Minneapolis as an example of how leaderless, bottom-up organizing can be more powerful than traditional politics in making change.

farms are gross. you can and should take hygiene measures and I'm sure these people didn't but FARMS ARE GROSS.

this is why pasteurization is a good fucking idea
I follow her for tradwife research reasons and let me just say I don't know how disgusting a milking barn can look and still be technically passable, but theirs looks so gross and their kids are always crawling all around it.
This is bonkers. MAHA 'farmers' with ecoli tainted raw milk admit they really don't know how to make the stuff after all.

"Producing raw milk takes careful planning from a facility and infrastructure standpoint. Unfortunately, we learned this after the fact."

i've done it. i watched every video on youtube where an old guy in a ratty t-shirt explains his backyard homestead solar setup in excruciating detail. there were 274 in total. the tennessee valley authority now owes me a 1.5 acre allotment, a dozen used 200w panels, and a microinverter

i don't particularly disagree with a lot of the critiques of anarchist activism by liberals but I bristle when they act as if their best practices are any wiser. we're here because none of us figured out how to avoid being here.

everyone should have some goddamn humility.

Fucking surreal that people dressed like this and carrying assault rifles are permitted to kidnap people off our streets

What is violence?

Is it tossing a tear gas canister back to the mercenaries who shot it at you?

Is it blowing a whistle at bounty hunters who are trying to abduct someone?

Perhaps, rather than asking whether an action is "violent," we should ask—

Does it perpetrate oppression? Or interrupt it?
The Illegitimacy of Violence, the Violence of Legitimacy
What is violence? Who gets to define it? Does it have a place in the pursuit of liberation? This discussion never takes place on a level playing field.

Remember the incident where DHS claimed officers shot a guy because he attacked them with a snow shovel?

Yeah. It didn't happen. They shot him through the door of his own home. And then arrested him. And then lied about it. Again.

And they almost shot some kids in the process.
They just blindly shot through the fucking door.

"Additional photographs show damage consistent with a bullet fragment lodged in a bedroom wall down the hallway — suggesting it traveled between a mattress and a portable crib in a room where several small children sleep."

Retired general Smedly Butler, who was already jaded upon the march being broken up, was approached by a cabal of businessmen who asked him to lead a fascist coup using the bonus marchers and the American legion as brownshirts. Butler refused, and exposed the plotters. 1/2
