If anyone works at major HR firms and platforms (Salesforce, Workday, etc.) and has info about what drove adding these questions to job applications in the last few months my DMs are open and my Signal is SydneyBauer.30

Let's remember that MLK was assassinated while in Memphis supporting African American sanitation workers who were, despite CNN's weird definition, actually members of the working class.

This is a really important story, and one that explains the place of the Hmong community in the Twin Cities and why this entire occupation is really just ethnic cleansing (my words). Also, props to Marisa for doing the work to get this story right when so many out-of-town journalists have failed.
New — I wrote about ChongLy Scott Thao, the elderly Hmong American wrongly arrested and forced out of his home by ICE in his underwear during the punishing Minnesota winter, what witnesses saw, and DHS's racist claim that he fit the description of another Asian man they were looking for.

My story:
Behind the disturbing image of ICE snatching a half-naked, elderly Hmong American from his home
DHS has claimed without evidence that they were looking for someone else when they took ChongLy Scott Thao.

Also, please note: they tried very hard to be scary, kept saying “this is where you live, go home” over the loudspeaker. But when you continue to follow them, they don’t arrest you, they run. Their tactics are based in fear and bullying, not any true legal authority.
Here’s a really tense ICE situation in front of my home. One car looped a block 25 times until two reinforcement cars showed up and led me home. Was pretty scary because I was solo - BUT I knew I had backup from thousands of courageous neighbors and observers. Strength in numbers.

This is (*checks notes*) after a Federal District Judge ordered them not to use chemical weapons on observers.

ICE is a collection of lawless, cruel, racist thugs. Defund them, and prohibit their non-elected federal employment for the next 20 years.
It's cool that these guys just use pepper spray casually now, against people who are wholly within their rights, without a moment's hesitation. Several shots of them using it as they climb into their cars and drive away, not even a pretense of urgency or need. Just a parting "fuck you" to them.
This is what happened in our neighborhood yesterday. ICE snatched a human being off of our streets, roughed them up badly, and then pepper sprayed legal observers as they documented it all. This is a daily occurrence happening all throughout Minnesota right now.

For those saying “oh but the cabinet are all sycophants.” Yes. We know.

It’s called PRESSURE. You pressure the system until something gives. Micro cracks in the wall until some bricks start to come loose.
The 25th Amendment must be invoked by the cabinet. I’m all for pressuring them. Congressional Dems should lead the charge. Not on Bluesky or Threads. Let’s do it.
Invoke the 25th Amendment.

Despite Trump’s promises, grocery prices are still rising fast. Families can’t afford this… when is he going to get serious about lowering costs?

We are watching one of the wildest things a nation-state has ever done: A superpower is committing suicide because the GOP Congress is too cowardly to stand up to the Mad King.

This is one of the wildest moments in all of geopolitics ever.

Even a doomed-to-fail impeachment effort offers Democrats some advantages. Remember: Democrats are in a content-creation war with the Trump regime.

There’s no reason an impeachment effort can’t be a kaleidoscopic panoply of Trumpian misdeeds presented to the public. trib.al/RMEYHUM

The "worst problem you've never heard of" is the leading cause of Black land loss in this country.

Over the years, it's seen Black families stripped of hundreds of billions of dollars in land. It's called "heirs' property."

The rapidly increasing numbers of deaths in DHS custody is an enormous, stand-alone story in this moment of so many stories.

In addition to that, however, I would like to note the horrifyingly deferential way this NBC News report presents information.

I don't know of any independent, solo journalist who does--as she did here--more actual reporting, as contrasted to bullshitting, about big news events.

Democrats should do Actual Popularism & embrace full-throated defense of these things. Yes, also do compensation & social welfare policies,, but stop doing mercantilism/xenophobia lite. It's bad policy AND bad politics.
This is extremely important

The other advantage of it is that it's not only Abundance...it's also Doing A Popularism.
