2/ Furthermore, the UK Supreme Court has literally just declared the legislative framework FAILED to give effect to the policies stated in explanatory notes. It is certainly not robust.

Everyone: "Anyone who covers everything they hold dear - their drink, their healthcare, their bits, and their sanity when you terfs appear. That's what."

'everyone hates us and that should be illegal!' - terfs

@bphillipsonmp.bsky.social: i agree.

pretty much the entire 'gender critical' movement is jus them demanding that everyone like them in spite of their disgusting views and paranoid conspiracies.

there's *another* one at the uni of bristol.

Trans people aren't a fucking distraction and neither is the US government's preoccupation with murdering us. This is how cis people rationalise doing nothing and "focusing on the real threat", and you're an asshole for suggesting the targets of the culture war are any less deserving of protection.

I surveyed 12 UK national trans groups about whether they were consulted by the Sullivan Review. All responded that they were not.

It was only in 2017 that a TORY PRIME MINISTER promised to legislate for self-ID.

Eight years later, we’re on the verge of banning people from being trans in public.

Ask yourself, who’s next?

It's amazing that they all simultaneously say that they're fighting for the majority, common sense position in the country, and that they've lost multiple friends etc as a result. Like surely both of those things can't be true at once?

Trans people as a group learn to get by with very little, be it respect, affection, money, power, or autonomy. Soon it's likely that a few will be pushed too far and do rash things when they feel they have nothing left to lose. This is by design. They'll be made an example of, and then an excuse.

I told a friend, "If a trans woman ever says to you that she has a funny story to tell you about her childhood, brace yourself for some of the most traumatic shit you've ever heard in your life. She will then smile like nothing happened."

“[trans girls] will tell you the most horrifying story you’ve ever heard in your life and then ask you to pass the butter without a moments notice.”

The load bearing concept for me there is "want", its not about what cis people want, its about trans people needing rights for parity. She is centering a more privileged group's wants in direct conflict of evaluating minority needs for rights.

"Everyone Just follow the rules"

Yeah I'll follow the rules, the rules of the ECHR, the ECHR Stephenson said the UK should also follow and abide by our international treaties when asked about her role in reforming the ECHR.

I was concerned that Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson might try and be smarter about transphobia than her predecessors and leave trans people in a shit place than was harder to rectify because it wasn’t so obvious.

Today dispelled those worries.

Labour have appointed a second raving bigot to run the EHRC.

Interesting to note that the trans hostile EHRCs and Labours line is pivoting hard from 'follow the law' (legal) to 'follow the rules' (social contract).

Almost like they know segregation isnt allowed under the law.
It's not illegal to use the right toilets and no one should adhere to Mary-Ann Stephenson's headmistressly call to "follow rules" that serve no good purpose, breach the UK's human rights obligations, will be bad for all women, and debase trans dignity. Make her appoint her sodding toilet police.

If everyone follows though on what’s she’s actually saying, then a lot of places will have to make all their toilets unisex, as that could be the only way of making a unisex provision. In which case, well done transphobes you got exactly what you didn’t want – actual men are allowed to use your loo

There is something very wrong with a world where you can lose your employment for being kind and empathetic and get elevated to the lords for being a hate filled bigot 🤬
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

On the subject of BBC bias, I’d just say that I’m pretty sure they haven’t had the same kind of conversation with regular contributor Sharron Davies that they’ve had with Robin outlined below.
